There is always the risk of shenanigans to get the tech at a low price whatever happens.
It's all about risk / reward, and my money is on at least one of the multiple shots at goal coming to fruition and the sp reflecting this.
Also, call me mad, but a certain degree of professionalism and integrity from LD, Vulpes, Redmile etc..

Catch 22 surely - they can only gain enough control if they convert to equity to get the percentage ownership, but if they do they no longer have the CLNs to convert to cash?

AB124, I'm not sure they have a choice - at expiration, the CLNs are converted to equity.
There are probably clauses in the small print that cash can be demanded at any time, but it is kinda pointless - if the company is doing well why would you? And if they are not then there won't be any cash!

AB124, don't see why it is a problem at all - they are CLNs, Scancell just issue the equity?

I would like to take DE at his word, but such an accomplished investor with a grip on the science would surely not sell due to a minor corporate governance issue surely? It strikes me as a more fundamental falling out, or perhaps he does need the funds for another venture and this is a good enough excuse?
Anyway, we will probably never know the truth.

So Scancell created the subsidiary company and didn't inform shareholders. That has upset DE and he's selling?
Doesn't add up and there is clearly more to it than DE is revealing (or able to reveal).
IMO, the 'more' is something that is not in the public domain, and quite possibly connected with CH leaving.
I have said before I suspect some prospective takeover has been scuppered by LD and both DE and CH are upset at missing out on the short term financial gain.
It smacks a bit of sulking at not getting their own way tbh.
I'm all for not selling out or doing deals too early, so 100% on LDs side (with the information available). It would seem the other shareholders / board members are also on her side (again with the information available).

There may have been an (informal) offer for the whole of Scancell that both CH & DE were keen on, as it would have given them a quick realisation of profits. LD scuppered it, hence DE selling (out of frustration) and CH leaving?

I liked that the UK arm of the covidity trial will be submitted once the South African trial is "up and running and we have some safety data", this could be quite fast - within a few weeks of first patient dosed perhaps?

We also have a regular 400K buyer. Plenty of other buyers out there too. Nice of DE (or whoever it may be) to provide some liquidity.

Dibs, approval was submitted last September when the sp was in the 50's, so there is probably an element of pricing in.
I don't think the relatively small contract announcements are massively significant, though of course very welcome, and all good recognition of the technology.
There is a good argument that AGL was undervalued in the 50's and 40's (there was a large seller offloading which depressed the share price), so how much is FDA-factoring-in and how much is return-to-true-value it is difficult to say.
My personal opinion is that the FDA approval will not be that big a deal SP wise at least initially - there will be a balance of 'sell the news' and 'buy the milestone'. Probably net positive though ?, just not sp-multiplying as some have predicted.
The true value will be on some decent contract wins or tie-ups for 10's or 100's of millions, or quite possibly an offer (even a bidding war?) for the company. FDA is a pre-requisite for both of these IMO.

Good advice, but we aren't all full time investors, and don't have the time and/or inclination to watch the markets all day long looking for spikes and troughs. Over-trading is a quick way to lose all your money also if you are not very careful.
I'm buy and hold in Scancell for better or worse, but most of my wealth is in relatively safe funds. I have to say my Scancell investment is showing a better return!

OK, so if the data from the trial indicates that covidity 'works' (i.e. shows antibody and T-cell response) SCLP will almost certainly be over £1. But why on earth would you sell then? When the tech has just been validated and all the big pharmas will be sniffing around? That is still only a £1B market cap. And the publicity will drive in many new investors.
If it spikes to £4 / £5 on covidity news, I admit I would be tempted to sell some of my stake into that, but not at £1 or £1.50

People invest in early-stage biotech for the big thousands of percent returns - it's a highly speculative investment, and it comes good regularly, especially if you can use a bit of research and common sense to narrow the field a bit.
Not sensible, obviously, too invest your life savings (though if you did and it went up 3000% - wow!).
