I thought BEG would tick up today as well , especially with the significant debt reduction.

They have not reduced their holding. They were just over the 5% limit and the recent Tranch 2 share issue must have pushed them back under it.

Both tipped in Midas column in the Mail today - not always an endorsement I trust but I am sure it is spot on this time! Shame they forgot to mention MANO as well.... If begs comes out with a good set of results it should lift all three.

I should point out that the MS approach (although slightly different in this instance) fits in with the collaboration Avacta has with Adeptrix and their BAMS technique (an affinity capture purification method)

It does seem to be gaining some momentum now. The issue will be how tightly it is controlled by the shorts on the asx. Somewhat typically, following the uptick in share price gross shorts volume doubled yesterday but they are still at a lower level than is often see, there is a 4 day delay on reporting net shorts which are currently at an 8 month low (<5%) so it will be interesting to see where these are over the next week. I think that they will reduce quite quickly after the next quarters results provided they look OK (and there are no other issues), the following quarter should be very good as the only hedging is >$1500.

Actually what it shows is that this approach (at least in the lab), whether using antibodies or affirmers is viable - either would need FDA approval etc so little difference there, this is similar to the rns released by avacta yesterday - it is just a lot easier to produce large amounts of affirmes -also more scope to add other things to them.

The ability to detect sars cov-2 in saliva was one of my concerns for avacta's test. I listen to a talk yesterday where they were analysing gargle solutions to see if it could be detected. It was a fairly crude analysis, saline mouth wash, then 750ul used for acetone precipitation followed by deglycosylation and tryptic digest. Analysis was by LCMS/MS (orbitrap in discovery mode). Only three samples were used, two with high levels and one with low (by qPCR). They could detect several peptides from the high load samples but not the low.
This shows that it is possible to detect sars cov2 in saliva and given that this was untargeted with a crude prep it is very likely to work well with a more refined work flow. Using affirmers to capture the virons in the sample prep stage will (should) give better recoveries and much faster and cleaner sample prep. It also means that it is likely that the lateral flow assay on saliva will work.

This is not actually true. There have been two updates since then, the first on the 19th Mar which is when the rerate started and another on the 8th May. Both indicated that the company was solvent and could manage the crisis. They have also had a successful placing at 230.
They are going to have extra costs and lower numbers for some time but, as others have pointed out, they provide an irreplaceable transport infrastructure for many. A good example are school buses - an option to drive (or be driven) does not exist for most.

The other positive is that shorts on the asx have now fallen to below 5% for the first time since September. They peaked at just over 11% in mid Jan.

Their new product with Trist kicks off in H2. They are also getting royalties replacing something(not sure what?) in another of Trist products which will soon not be allowed under EU rules. With these further arrangements with additional companies it serves to prove that they have a very in demand product.

I think that as things stand this rise will put them into the ftse250 at the June rebalance, if not they will certainly easily make the reserve list. The indexes are so fluid at the moment it is hard to keep track though.

It has been a 28% rise since the dip at the being of May - Looking at other companies online sales the lockdown period should have given this aspect of the busines a good boost. Supermarket sales have also been strong, so it should be a good trading update.

I agree that this is a good space to be in, I am holding mano and frp as well. I think that there should be a small uptick this quarter (as seen in mano's recent update), however things will get very busy after this. The o/p's question was about the dip - if you came in at the lows around the mid 60's it is not unreasonable to take some profits pre results ;0)

Assumedly full year trading update today/tomorrow - could be some taking profits incase these are not as positive as has been priced in?
