It looks like it was the buyback putting the floor in on Friday. Once it dropped below 103.3 they could purchase, timing of the buybacks matched the drops below this level.
Cap today is 105.3 .

Should this be interpreted as being a positive? I assume that if it was otherwise, they would want it out before he event

This would mean that tests that are based o the detection of the S1 protein could potentially be 5x more sensitive....

Todays cap is about 103 (using the prices of this site), this may have put the floor under the role back of the price.
It will be interesting to see, the timing and the price if there has been any buybacks today.

They were capped at 100p yesterday by the buyback rules , so only 75k purchased up until lunch time.
The main part of yesterdays rise was after this - so not due to the buyback.

It is currently third on the ftse 250 reserve list, but is circa 140m MCap behind the other two,(CMC/BH Macro) so it looks to be either buying on fundamentals and/or the share buy back pushing it up rather than arbitraging for an index change.

The buyback really seems to be helping push the price up this time. I was expecting the usual retrace once we touched 99p so pleasantly surprised when it motored through.
Tomorrow should be interesting as, if my calculations are correct, they will only be able to buy when/if the price is under 103.3 .

You would use these after. So pull down the virons, wash then proceed as with a normal rtPCR.

If saliva works well for LFT and BAMS then it would work well for rtPCR. I would be interested to see the results from using affirmers for pull downs as a pre- rtPCR clean up/concentration step.

I did get the impression that they are on the limits to get the sensitivity with saliva. I think that the difference between Klaus and the others is, he is, understandably, after a definitive, rock solid test, where as the others see that, in practice, the advantage that a poc test offers, means there is a play off between this and test sensitivity.. We know how poor even rt PCR can be at times, but that does not stop it being useful.
They did say that the developed tests would still be work in progress, so expect them to get something out soon, then work on improving the sensitivity as time goes on.

Whilst the headline results look OK, I have taken the opportunity to exit my holding in this today.
Although net cash was 2m at year end it reduced to -0.3M after the first quarter (previous rns).

I was also concerned why they would need a gagging order re- intangible following a dispute with an ex-franchisee. There may be a good reason, such as valuations when negotiating to take other franchises back in house, or information about the customer base, but I can also think of some less good ones.

Good luck with your holdings here, I may return in the future, after another set or two of results, as all things to do with water will be important going forward.

It is a good time to generate some cash from GGP so that they can take a position(s) in other investments opportunities that are available in the current economic climate.

A decent price increase today.
Total shorts now holding around 3.5%, however if you are wondering about the price drop yesterday , 36% (4.2m out of 11.5m ) trades (on asx) were short positions, this is compared to what has been typically been around 1.2 M p.d as net shorts have been creeping down.
What I don’t know, is if this is because there is something specific, or has, as I believe, rsg become a useful proxy for gold/economic factors when traders want a ‘go to’ stock to short in this sector.
Metro bank was similar – probably good reasons to short it initially - then once they have established a short position it becomes a proxy to use for banking/Brexit/other economic factors in general (overlaid with company specific issues).
We know that the amount of gold hedged in A$ this quarter will take some shine off the results, but I am hoping that production is on track setting things up for a very good third quarter when the shorts should retreat further. I do think that it is going to take quite a time for rsg to build enough trust to completely shake off its following of shorters though.

I am always surprised by how most see these tests as a binary decision between using affirmers and pcr. There is no reason why Avacta could not licence it to do pull downs/enrich with affirms and then do pcr.
The enrichment would give greater sensitivity and reduce the number of cycles needed.

Pre covid I was targeting 60p this year and 70p next so would be very happy with 85....
At the last results presentation they were questioned about a 60m revenue target (I think that this had been mentioned by either the company or analysts for this years results in 2018). They said at the time that this had been when they were expecting to purchase another company, primarily for the online portal. The deal fell through over the time taken with due diligence so crl then set up the online sales in house. The upshot was that they said it would now take two years to reach this target (i.e. next year).
I will be measuring them against this. If they get close without having had to spend the money on buying out another company it will a very good result.

I took advantage of the drop to start to top up again, 50p or under is good for me.
