Rather muted response to a reasonable set of results - clearly some selling into the news but I still thought it would pick up a bit more.
Small caps share prices really do seem to be struggling to gain traction at the moment - even when, as with mwe, they have shown that they can deliver through the downturn in the first half of the year.

Once tings have settled I can see the accommodation filling quickly. I have been following the bookings (look up Scape) and they are starting to fill nicely.

He vested his share options and only sold those need to cover the tax. Rather than this being a negative - it is a positive that he thinks that the price will rise.

As you indicate, the biggest risk that I can see is if they open then have to close again. Applications are way ahead for one of the institutions that I know - full with UG's and +40% on at least some MSc's . Good numbers of OS students in the mix.
I don't think that we will see the wholesale closures of the spring, to much money at stake, the uni's have spent months getting ready for mixed mode teaching.
I guess the appeal of the larger studio accommodation is that it is going to be better to isolate in if it is needed.

It is not clear if this is on top of the 700 m Bus scheme announced on the 8th but it looks like there may be a further 40m for school buses.
From what I have heard they will reclassify some buses as school only so that there is no need for social distancing. They would then run additional buses for their other customers. How much nex will benefit from this is unclear (much as most details of the policy!) but it should be at least of some assistance. It also demonstrates that the governments will step in to support school transport.

They are offering a good quarantine package for overseas arrivals which should help.

I think they have have repurchased about 5,615,000 (ish) in this tranche, early on sp was around 90p but over 110p now. So possibly around £4.5M left?
Originally I thought that they would last until about the interims but with the recent rises being quick, volumes have been lower as they have been reaching 5% price cap more frequently.

Hi Falk, I will stick by what I have said before the results ' I do think that provided it gets through the next year (which I am confident that it will) then I expect it to reach 300 and then 400 the year after'
So 300 by the interims next year, and 400 by the interims in 2022- If this ends up being 250/350 - fine- as it will still be a pretty good return. Will see you back here in a year...
Watched our local bus go past earlier (rural so one of 4 a day), a month ago there would be either no one or one person on the bus - today about a dozen - a couple of teenagers and the rest were 50+. My daughter has caught the bus several times this week.
I think it is easy for people to forget that many have no option to catch buses.
Schools start in a couple of weeks they will start to look a lot busier then.

Which rns? I have only seen ones for the buyback transactions

He has held on to those not needed to cover tax . My understanding they try and vest at the share lows, so is he calling the bottom??

Further confirmation from UCAS today that UK degree student numbers are up: EU numbers are down by 2k but this is more than made up for by RoW such that total overseas students are up by 2k. Hopefully the accommodation should start filling up quickly now.
