Interesting to compare to the data in the Wyllie paper (used in ELISA presentation), copies/ml are quite different and at the lower range it has relevance to LOD's of the ELISA. (Note -Byrne did not set an LOD cut off @5.5K/ml in the same way).

This close to a question I was going to ask.
Does anyone know exactly what the issue is re testing capacity?
Is it test facilities, test kits (or components of), logistics, staff, other?
We know that the government has thrown lots of money at testing and had predicted a need for more this Autumn, have they not purchased enough RT-PCR'kits/instruments (because this is still currently the main test) expecting others to be ready by now? Or is there a problem with supply of some of the components. I was going to ask on the Ncyt BB but though I would be accused of de-ramping...

I would not read too much into L&G selling, they seem to be selling across the board this week.

It seems to be holding up quite well.
Why sell off yesterday so hard that it dropped the price 200 pr share, there is clearly a demand at these prices? If they had spread it out over several days they would surely would have had a better return.
I did wonder if it was to do with not paying the divi that then made it ineligible for inclusion in a divi tracker/fund and so was a forced sale. When I checked the Russel FTSE Div+ index has already announced its changes so this would be unaffected even if it is a member (I cannot find a list of constituents to even check if Dnlm is included) , but perhaps there are other indices/funds affected.

Seems to be bouncing back today.
It was the first time I had bought many since the March lows, so if it keeps going up then it was just a nice dip to buy into.
I guess it depends on if yesterdays seller is finished or if they are waiting for the bounce to start selling into again....
Hard to see that it will not be up to at least 1450 by the October trading update.

I guess one of the II's wanted to reduce. Not sure why today as there was nothing new, probably decided to 'sell into the news' but there have not been enough takers to support the price.
I have been buying some on the way down. With sales for the next quarter likely to average at least 25%, and probably more YoY it is hard to see that the price will not rise again (even though they will be quite pricey for a retailer).

It always surprises me the way share prices move. There was nothing in this that was not in either the Q4 trading update or the recent Q1 update, the latter spiked the price to 1560, this has dropped it to nearly 1400....
Judging from the packed carpark outside our local store the increased sales should continue through this month. High number of house sales has also got to be good for Dunelm, as people refurbish with new curtains etc.
I think that we will see a rise again into the the full Q1 results, even if they only average 20% revenue increase this should more than offset the additional covid/mi wage/capex that they flag.

Shorts have been ticking up a bit again since late August which also was a concern.
Originally I had been hoping for an uplift, anticipating a decent forthcoming quarterly and maybe some news on Bibiani.
I cannot imagine that the news will go down well on the asx so I have sold out (again).

One of the reasons I get 'excited' about ELISA's is because how ubiquitous they are. They are common not only in research labs but also in hospitals and diagnostic labs. Plate readers are relatively cheap so the only major cost is a robotic station if you want high throughput.
If the better sensitivity seen for the Sars cov2 spike protein maps to other assays then the market in this area of diagnostics is huge. Development and production costs should be far lower than MAb's which should give them a competitive advantage to established assays as well.

Sino Biological sell a sandwich ELISA for either the spike protein or the nucleocapsid protein. £480 for a 96 well plate assay. (although website say temporarily not available outside China, are they just marketing ABcams?)

Sensitivity (although they do not specify conditions, so I assume buffer - so Avacta's is more sensitive with a LLOQ of 5pg/ml in buffer)

Cautious, you are correct ELISA will not pick up changes.
BAMS potentially could, at the amino acid level (note-some nucleotide base changes at the third base can be 'silent' and so would not result in AA changes), but this will depend on details of the analysis that we currently do not have information about.
If the BAMS assay involves cutting the proteins up with an enzyme (trypsin) before the MS (which is a common way of doing this type of analysis) then the fragment generated that contains the altered AA reside will determine whether or not it can be detected. The most common issue is that changes on very small peptides will be missed as there is a minimum size cut off for Maldi ToF detection.

That was because RWS was at a lot higher price when they announced the takeover than it is now.

To be perfectly honest no...

RWS's is just over 600 at this price, they are paying a premium for SDL but then their price has dropped since the news. The FTSE index change rather muddies the water but I it looks like the market has settled on something around the current level.
Both companies held up OK through the lockdown and both indicate that things have picked up well since .
Originally I held SDL as a FTSE250 punt, picked up some more in the dip then sold out on the news of the takeover. Back in now that the price has settled. RWS has a good track record of growth and the fit between the business is good so I have decided to buy and hold for the midterm at least.
The combined company will have a lot of potential as an important global player in translation services.

I wonder if some other countries that are pushed for testing resources may use it 'unlicensed'
What is the times scale for getting this licenced??

Cheers Spike. I am impressed, I have mentioned the ELISA test previously when often others have ignored it.... I was just curious to the wording with reference to research but Spike has seemingly addressed this.

I wonder why they say 'researchers in their own labs' rather than for broader testing requirements? It is a simple analysis and here are plenty of ELISA plate readers about.
