That should leave around 300m placing shares left. Great sign that so far 2 large existing holders have added. Don’t know if we’ll see any more tr1s, I think 6 people taking an equal split on the remainder would give each just under 3%. Very possible more than that would be taking part.

If you've been in this for 10 years you would have first bought in on the prospect of Tjate and platinum being a much higher price than it is today.

I think we have to accept that Tjate is a non-starter for the time being. Platinum prices remaining so low for so long have made it unviable.

Rather than clinging on to the hope of Tjate and platinum prices improving, JLP changed course and what we see now is a very different company to 10 years ago. We have profitable projects up and running, and Kabwe on course to deliver very significant earnings. Unlike Tjate, Kabwe is very achievable for JLP and is now fully funded.

Maybe, hopefully mining stocks in general are starting to come back into fashion. Not back in the other one yet, topped up a bit too heavily somewhere else at rock bottom prices, so having to limit what I invest in for the time being. Don't want to risk everything on AIM!

Must admit I'm a bit surprised by the movements this week following no real response to great news we've had over the past couple of weeks. Thought we might have to wait until at least the April-June quarterlies, or even Kabwe starting production until we started to see some real movement.

At this rate the SP will back in the 4's next week, where we were before any mention of BMR and Kabwe came up.

Troajan, think the difference here was that it was a huge placing that together with the finance raised an equivalent to over half our Mcap at the time. Then the interims last week showed current earnings are generating a group level profit after costs, so theres confidence now that the amount raised won't just disappear into a black hole leading to another fund raise to complete the kabwe project.

Could be hugely beneficial to the full year accounts as well. We've raised all the required funding upfront, with a 2 year ramp up timescale and staged payments for the refinery. So we won't be spending all the money raised before end of June, meaning the full year figures could end up showing a pretty hefty profit, and a bit sooner than expected.

Another tick up. The placing shares are now on a 20% gain on the bid price, still no sign of those being sold off. Looking promising that they've gone to long term investors.

You've been quiet for a few days, did you sell on the rises and now looking to buy back in?

Lets see what tomorrow brings. Probably too early for the major re-rate, but you never know. BMNs re-rate happened long before earnings came through. Perhaps LC did his job at the investors show and has opened a few eyes to whats coming up.

Hopefully this is just the start of the rise. Interims maybe towards the end of next week could support some further rises with the Platcro acquisition feeding into the figures. Just hope the SA power problems are sorted out at Hernic now and production in March picked up.

Surprising day here!

It was great news on Sable/Kabwe, followed by turning into profit, but seemed to be ignored. Market starting to cotton on to what the news really means?

We do appear to be moving northwards on fairly low buying pressure. A good sign perhaps that there are not massive amounts of placing shares ready to be sold quickly for small gains.

Was expecting to see some more TR1s by now, maybe still to come?

Neversatisfied, yes, bad choice of words on my part. I understood what they've described as secondary targets to be much larger than the ZOI, so should have said the 'bigger' target instead of the 'main' target, and why I said a disappointment.

From their January presentation they listed Recoverable at ZOI 25mmbl, compared with 134 & 390mmbl at the other two.

Although they say results at ZOI exceeded expectations, so that figure may change.

That's quite a disappointment for panr. Some success and a commercial discovery, but not for the main target.

This line in their RNS is interesting:

"The Alkaid success provides ongoing confidence on future drilling operations where the high tech geophysics applied to Alkaid can be replicated across the entire portfolio and deliver material success as has been the case with other operators chasing this similar play in adjoining leases."

Don't we have the only adjoining leases to GB/PANR at the moment?

It seems very likely to me that DW will want to go to the AGM with a forward plan for the coming year, and that pretty much hinges on the Farmout. Aside from launching the HRZ farmout, there's not a huge amount that we can really plan for until the conventional farmout is concluded. It would also make for a very awkward meeting with undoubtedly a lot of farm out related questions being asked that can't be answered if they're still in confidential negotiations.

But wanting something to happen by a certain date doesn't guarantee it will happen according to plan.

Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst is perhaps a sensible approach until we have farm out news.

I would have thought that if there were further tailings coming with the Sable refinery then LC/CB would have been very keen to tell us. There are a few old articles around that refer to Sable having historic tailings associated with the Kabwe mine. Not sure if these are different tailings to what BMR ended up with?

The history of it looks to be:

* Sable Zinc formed in 2000 which an acquisition of the Kabwe Mine Leach Plant and some of the Kabwe tailings dumps from ZCCM

* Metorex bought Sable Zinc in 2005 and converted the plant to process Copper ore from mines in DCR

* Glencore bought Sable Zinc in 2011. Tailings dumps are rather insignificant for Glencore so not much info on what they bought.

Its possible that somewhere along the way the old Kabwe tailings dumps that were with Sable have been sold off separately.

Although there must be a some copper tailings (albeit a small amount) as certainly glencore were producing copper/cobalt at Sable, as can be seen in their old production reports from 2011 onwards.

Anyone else noticed a problem with the prices on the new LSE site?

The new site doesn't seem to be refreshing trades/prices, and showing a different price to the old site.

New site - Mid price 0.8p -5.88%
Old site - Mid price 0.85p +6.25%

That would be a risky strategy since most votes would be cast prior to the AGM. I don't believe news is being held back to be released at a predetermined date/time, no news means exactly that, there is no news at the moment. Therefore we can assume that negotiations are still ongoing. But in terms of the timings for negotiations, we should probably bear in mind the time differences. If we're negotiating with an American company, the working week hasn't begun there yet.

Thinking about this some more, would we really buy a major asset that's funded through diluting us by 1/3, and then put that asset into a JV company that we don't currently have full ownership of and isn't structed to give us 100% benefit of the earnings?

The previous agreements with BMR placed us as sole operator of the kabwe project and gave us full control of the execution methodology.

That methodology obviously changed from building a new plant to using an existing refinery. So it would seem logical that instead of the JV company incurring costs to build a new plant, the JV company pays to use that refinery. We just so happen to now own that refinery.

Definitely a good question for the next webcast or investor show if anyone's going.

The only way we're ever likely to hear the name of the preferred bidder is if/when the deal is agreed and announced.

But as for showing clear intent of the parties to make an agreement work - Isn't the preferred bidder making a bid, us selecting them as preferred bidder, and both parties then entering negotiations showing that there is clear intent to make an agreement work? It's an awful lot of unnecessary work involved for both parties if they don't intend for the negotiations to go anywhere.
