No licence required and no limit on size as long as not grid connected.

prussell1963 - by removing all restrictions on self generation provided it's not grid connected, Mantashe has put the ball in BMNs court.
Mikhail has got no excuses for not landing some contracts in the very near future.
He's had years to prepare for this and I would expect contracts to be already drawn up and waiting for this day to be signed.
Don't forget that Mikhail recently stated that he had dozens of contracts on the way.

Bushveld Energy have already informed us of their involvement in the IRP in the February 2021 presentation.

Therefore they must be involved with one of the companys on the list of bidders released on 22 Dec 2021. The bid window was closed by this date.

I wasn't aware of the latest corporate presentation that was released a couple of weeks ago.
This stood out in the BE section on page 9 -

coffeecups - IES have been very specific in that it is a rental and not a lease.

A small technical point, but it's a rental agreement and not a lease.
At the end of the rental term the renter loses the right to use the asset.
This raises an interesting scenario at the end of the 10 year rental agreement that IES has with Pivot Power's project at the Oxford Energy Superhub. How will a deal be structured with PP to allow them to continue using the electrolyte at the end of the rental agreement, as the project life is longer than the rental agreement.
