It looks likely that a lithum battery fire was responsible for these 34 deaths in a boat fire.

Exactly Colt45. Current intelligence suggests that vanadium stocks are being run down according to reports from China.
Then look at the increasing number of VRFBs reportedly being deployed.
Then look at the major project pipeline in my list of VRFB projects and the amount of vanadium required in relation to current annual production.
Then look at the electrolyte production facilities in the planning stage on my list and the amount of vanadium required in relation to current annual production.
With worldwide infrastructure projects currently gearing up, it all points to another vanadium price spike in 2021.
Planned electrolyte production (4.5 tonnes of V per MWh)

Another planned electrolyte production facility in China to add to the list.
Jiangxi Yinhui New Energy Co., Ltd. plans to build a new project with an annual output of 66,000 cubic meters of vanadium electrolyte in Yichun, with a total investment of about 200,000 yuan. The main construction includes new factory building, complex building, administration building and ancillary facilities. The main production technology is the use of reaction kettle, pure water and other equipment, the application of raw material dissolution, mixing reaction, REDOX and other processes. The production scale is planned to build ten vanadium electrolyte production lines, with an annual production capacity of 66,000 cubic meters of vanadium electrolyte.

I wonder if Mikhail has been using moggy's list, which is tracking 5 GWh of projects in China.

gambitxjs - a tie up with the Chinese is almost inevitable. A deal with Rongke on the Eskom tenders could pave the way for a Mokopane offtake agreement further down the road. The Chinese have previously declared that South Africa's vanadium resources will be used in their huge Fangchenggang project which will produce 2m tonnes of electrolyte per year.
"Next to Qisha Port, the new energy storage material industrial park invested by China Energy Storage Materials (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is under construction in full swing. This planned project with a total investment of more than 30 billion yuan will become the largest production base for new energy storage materials in China after completion. It will use South Africa’s high-grade vanadium-titanium magnetite resources to produce a new generation of high-purity vanadium electrolyte, provide core materials for the world’s most advanced vanadium batteries, and sell them all over the world, allowing the world to recognize "Made in China" again. .
Fangchenggang Economic Development Zone, all the way to the sea, spring is boundless."

Update.
I've scaled back the Eskom projects so that VRFBs capture 50% just to make it a bit more realistic.
This list only includes projects of 40 MWh and over.
Who knows how much all the smaller projects add up to ? Double ?

We might be able to get small quantities of electrolyte made in the UK, but that doesn't help with the Eskom tender. Without an electrolyte production facility or VRFB assembly in South Africa it's difficult to see how we can participate in any real way with the local content requirement.
Frederic Verdol specifically mentions Bushveld in his presentation at 42:10 with a little smile on his face.
