I got recently a book about Buffet's methods.I think ASC is a share he would have liked.It has the correct numbers like strongly rising profits,etc.Also it fills a niche and is the market leader in the niche at least in the UK "the moat" of Buffet.The business is simple and easily understood.Yes of course they might not dominate in the world but really that is not necessary and will not stop them making a lot more profits.Enough for us at least.

careful with this one as xd is this week,14 April.It will fall an equivalent amount then hopefully resume rising.

from past records I would nor look at stop lossing this till we reach the 500p-550p range.Also the now quarterly coal price adjustments are still feeding through the first big rise made a few weeks ago.That one is to last till about June.Thereafter we should assess the position.IF we are above 500p in June,another reason to reassess then...but as to selling,no not at this stage.There are in fact several other likely coal prospects,Shares magazine mentioned Caledon.Must research that too.

by extending the line ASC might reach just below 1000p by year end...

to make just over 20% rise from here to reach a half-billion company...

Well yes tomo, it is great these days.Just doing a bit of tax count-up-last year was mostly disastrous for myself (and many others).I will be relying on ASC in the next year to reach part of my (hopeful) recovery targets.As it no doubt will.This is not the time to be wasting time in any laggards but ASC is filling the bill so far.

These shop-based companies like MKS/NXT are out of date now,huge overheards/need to employ loads of staff and the buildings are costing big money when all the customers are gone each night-the internet/TV selling is the new big thing;it said on TV today for example that Facebook has 25m UK members ie nearly 1 in 2 use it.A small step from that to buying clothes on the computer.Sometime some company will be biggest in that slot,it could be ASC.

even on a bad day,BVC struggled up a bit!

not good today but remember most markets fell today and so did commodities.China will have to pay the extra coal costs though inflation will eventually hit there.So yes 500p is a target but as that was the best last time I wouldn't expect too much more.When I had this a few years ago I do remember the huge falls as I had got in too late.So maybe wait till 500p then run,or if you like put in a stop loss when we get in that territory...I did say I had a SL last week for 395p but took it off,I feel now is a bit early for SL's but later on yes.

Tomorrow, MKS to report-a forecast says their growth the next few years will be levelled off,as sales fail to expand.Meanwhile ASC will continue to play catch up with a mkt. cap of £400m maybe reached next week.

comparing WTN to its' past good runs it should be capable of about 550p anyway.I'll decide nearer the time what to do in that event.These new high coal/iron prices are only initially till June.so best to keep researching and watching news on that.So I feel we have till at least then.Metals prices do dip a bit in H2 often though,so by that time we may need to make decisions...

there is the danger of stop losses.I did have one at 395p a week ago but removed it before today.These days I just collect info. and research/chart a bit all the time instead.

only 2% SP rise to reach mkt. cap. of £400m,while to reach £.0.5bn. needs a rise of about 25% from here...

comparing DEB to ASC,DEB is only about £950m,3 times present ASC.These large clothes retailers will be suffering from high overheads due to having to maintain lots of city centre outlets,yes of course they also show in out of town shopping centres which are a bit cheaper to run.Obviously they get casual walk-through shoppers from having these shops though.On balance I would guess they are handicapped by having expensive staff-heavy stores compared to ASC.You need to take a few hours off and park or use public transport while with ASC you just make a few keystrokes on the computer.

looked at present sizes of top UK clothes retailers though obviously several have gone private; just for interest MKS is at £5974m.NXT is £4144m and ASC's cap. is sitting at £396m.So they are both more than 10 times bigger...but of course MKS make a lot of £££'s on food retail in addition to clothes.

if you look at Wikipedia for MKS,you find they began in the later 1800's with one market stall in Leeds.A few years ago ASC,lost the lot in a warehouse fire,so similarly they have had to begin with almost nothing.These huge FTSE companies might seem now beyond the reach of ASC, but their rate of growth is now much greater than most of these...
