Putin seems to be acknowledging the role of foreign companies in the development of the Russian parts of the Arctic:

Not bad news for EUA considering Japan announced yesterday that despite a ban on investments in Russia from May, that some investments may be allowed subject to permits being issued.

As always DYOR but this may be positive. Suggests that despite sanctions banning new investments from May, some Japanese investments in Russia may be permitted:

Maybe the “Ordinance” bit is lost in translation but if the Russian article is correct then it’s possible that Japan can still invest in Russia subject to permits being granted.

Doesn’t mean that a deal would progress while the war is happening, I think that news wouldn’t go down well but if it’s technically possible, it could bode well once peace is agreed as they wouldn’t need to wait for sanctions to be unravelled.

That’s all well and good Ohmni, my point is that the Red Cross are there but were being prevented from evacuating people from a city which has been bombed into oblivion and yet this “independent” journalist is able to move freely and rescue individuals (obviously while filming the whole process).

Given there is no independent press in Russia, it’s reasonable to question why your guy was allowed by Russia to do so when the Red Cross wasn’t.

Thankfully it looks like some residents have been evacuated by the RC overnight so hopefully more can get out of there today.

Interesting comments from Potanin’s son who lives in the US - obviously said in the context of his circumstances there having been harassed by a couple of locals.

Not sure if this is genuine “general interest” reporting by Pravda or if they have an angle against Potanin senior given his earlier call for peace.

Everest, if I put this politely, you are the opposite of an advert that outlines the investment case for EUA.

You belong on a special corner of the internet that is reserved for flat earthers, Covid deniers, anti vaxers and Qanon followers.

Most people reading here will either be invested or will be considering investing or (in my case reinvesting when a ceasefire looks likely) so if you do hold any shares, do your investment a favour and realise that we have access to enough information here to make our own minds up about the war.

If you want to spread your version of the truth then go set up a Twitter account which ironically is something you’d struggle to do in Russia.

I had 10k shares up to yesterday which I’d had for 2 years. Was disappointed with the past week or so but still thought SNG001 would be useful for future preparedness so bought another 55k shares yesterday afternoon. It was a risk but so far so good.

This is early news so no guarantee of peace but it’s the first positive signs since this started.

It’s on the BBC Sharebel - 13:13 on their feed. BBC says it’s conditional on Ukrainian army laying down their weapons which isn’t mentioned on the interfax piece so we’ll have to see what the truth is when further details are released.
