So if my understanding is correct and for simplicity.
Profits up to the 40% tax bracket can still use retained losses and decommissioning charges to set aside part of that profit.
And the other 25% windfall profit as they put it. Can only use tax relief to set aside the tax applicable if they reinvest in the oil and gas sector for current and future projects.
That seems fair to me.

Val you have posted KRs explanation of the current situation so far. And raised some points that already have been addressed in his assessment of the situation. With regard to licencing I see that as a model for world wide distribution of the tech in the future as I doubt that PHE would be big enough to partner on every plant in every other country. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Loan as far as I was aware was possibly our contribution to the new formed Peel partnership for Protos site.
Now for the fly in the ointment. We still need a working full scale commercial Thermal combustion chamber. And until that has been fully designed, tested and commissioned we have only a laboratory product.
Hopefully Paul Emmitt and M Dryers Ltd plus those young egg heads at the university are beavering away at the problem.

Yes T it only shows from the Man Ship Canal. What however is encouraging is the talk of Plot 1 being possibly looked at being taken on by somebody as a waste input station from the canal. That means more products for the whole park to recycle etc which may spur some more overall investment.

Val, No your correct that there is one one Paul Emmitt on the PHE board. However Engsolve are now a part of the PHE group as an associated company. With between 25 to 50% of the shares in Engsolve. Which ensures that PHE have their own in house engineering consultants and access to other income from Engsolve other projects.

Good god Twizzle my post was mainly about the tone of frustration in her voice about permit application. And yes they were mistakes in presentation. Are you having wet dreams about her as your post appears to be from a person in in love.

Did anyone watch Newsnight last night. Some of the most unbalance reporting that only gave out BG as the only company that has been applying for forced prepayment meter installations. Yet every energy company has ceased the applications. Looking at the report it seems that lazy magistrates were just rubber stamping applications for a price per household when some were just presented on large spread sheets with out background information.

Excellent news so now that's all to be done is to get the computer controls, sensors etc.etc talking to each other in binary code and we are cooking in more ways than one.

As a DLG shareholder I use their subsidiary insurance arm Churchill for my wife's car. It went up £25 this renewal and yes there were slightly cheaper quotes. But when I went through what was covered they missed out a lot such a windscreen cover etc. My wife even received a £10 discount for removing her sister who had a claim against her own car policy. A couple of points that I notice for the cancellation of final dividends Was subsidence claims due to drought and reduction in property values as an asset. So it not just winter freeze claims and motor accident. The house subsidence claims I expect take a long time to confirm from claim to settlement. It could take over a year to sort out. I have my fingers crossed for a interim payment perhaps larger than normal but smaller than the final.

But to be fair to you for the last 30 years before my retirement the company that I owned, supplied and installed the communications system networks between Traders, their back office staff and Market Makers for 4 dealing houses in London.

Seed, every major energy retailer has stopped forced prepayment meters along with BG. So I expect that is prevalent throughout the industry. The problem is as I see it. The debt collection company employee has over stepped the mark and should be sacked and the company lose its licence. Debt collection company's have rules as do BG which I am sure were passed onto the DCC. Unfortunately the word from the government minister now demands compensation being paid. Just watch the number of vulnerable claims that now arise justified and otherwise. So far I have only seen 3 reported cases in the newspaper. For instance was the single dad a persistent debtor who for what ever reason thought he could get away with it. How many of those who came from the bankrupt low cost energy company's were actually check for credit worthiness. Or did BG just get lumbered with all and sundry. I'm a BG customer as well as being a Centrica shareholder. And as I rely on those dividends to support my state pension. That makes me equally vulnerable. I take a dim view of thieves that steal energy from me as the part owner of the business. The fault here lies with the DCC and BG management for not being careful who they send out in our company's name.
