They applied a very conservative 30% recovery factor for Heron to get to 60m bbl recoverable even though Heron-1 oil flowed to surface naturally at 800 bopd (Block 20).

Can safely assume Oil in place at Heron oil field should be lot more than +200 MMBO.

Petrochina estimates from their Blocks 19 and 21 are circa 2.25 billion barrels.

They need all the Crude they can get hold of to feed 30000 bopd to the upcoming Domestic Oil refinery.

Petrochina production from Blocks 19 and 21 been declining over past years from 25000 peak to current 17000 bopd.

Heron-1 oil field needed to ramp up production to 9000 bopd.

Even then PC and PM crude oil production will fall short of the 30k barrels daily feed stock needed for the Oil refinery.

Heron Land permit is a given....No brainer.
Just simple common sense. No need to over complicate things.

Look at Tullow Oil....touched £10 a share around 15 years ago. They took massive Debt which really killed their price. They never got out of their debt issues.

MATD - NO DEBT and soon to be generating very attractive CASH FLOWS from Heron-1.

Heron NPV10 would jump to circa $500m from $300m.

I think Daquing crude is benchmarked to Brent minus 5-8% discount, still NPV10 is highly lucrative coz these are shallow oil wells unlike the very expensive deep offshore drills.
