The PLT is effectively a set of spinners set along the tool - its relatively fragile - also it has to be run slowly - if you pull it through fast you "smear" the location data. I expect they are moving the tool along the hole to try and make sure they capture all the possible water ingress locations. They have surface readout so can monitor i n real time - although a final cleaned up set of data may not be available for 6-12 hours after they finish and get the tool out of the hole.

depends what the PLT showed - if it looks simple and an easy fix they may state the intervention is complete and they've restarted testing - but that's pretty brave I think. Far better to test tit for a few days later this week to ensure the water is not getting in and RNS a week on Monday. No-one wants another Desire.................

So they may be looking at restarting the Portland which they previously shut in as uneconomic but that ALba statement is very mis-leading

Be careful my friend - UKOG have been the major proactive user of lawyers on shore - they slapped writs on the local Broadford Bridge swampies for a post on Facebook IIRC and have used lawyers at HH and other places as well........................

probably have to leave it at least two years until the noise dies down - the Govt. certainly won't change their position ahead of the Climate Change Summit in Glasgow late this year and for 6 months after it.........

Ponkey - the EA are not known for producing answers ahead of the absolute last possible date

They have a lot on right now and I'm sure that, resources wise, many spare time is spent on floods not an O&J application that not one of the public or politicians care about

The company has NEVER mentioned a chemical plug and AFAIK one has never been used onshore UK. The mention came from a google warrior on here who was looking for something quick. But another article says it takes up to 2 years to be proven effective... No application has been made to the EA to pump any chemical stoppers down the well.

No - they'll do the obvious, proven and relatively quick mechanical shut off ......

Sounds about right Capt - I doubt they'll start the remedial work (as opposed to running the PLT ) until Tuesday - the yes need to watch for a cement truck next week
