yes but it won't happen for 50 years. An islander once told me that if Argentina had just stayed quiet in the early 80's they'd probably have some form of sovereignty (possibly shared) over the FI by 2000. The UK Governments weren't interested in them at all until the invasion.

IIRC Sanderson first sported the salmon slacks way back in the early days of Horse Hill (remember that!) and he was I think wearing them when he was arm in arm with Adrain, and when he was interviewed at Broadford Bridge by Drill or Drop.

I've worked with a lot of S Americans and their views on Argentina are generally that they seem incapable of understanding basic truths - like the need to work hard, save, and not believe in the Magic Money Tree. If Milei can break the cycle of the last 80 years they'd have a great country.

A good point - and they'd probably only have to pay for their share of 1 well in 2027/28 - in a 2 well deal defer the second well until they've got cash flow. I suspect that even Navitas might like a breather in the SL development drilling. You always get surprises and its useful to have a couple of months to be able to think without having the development rig around your neck

The industry uses a 30 day rolling average . It's simple for investors, senior management and Govt to understand.

Longterm is correct - unless JHI do SOMETHING they'll lose the Licence in the next year- they clearly don't have enough cash to drill on their own. So that means farming it to someone else. Navitas or a new entrant I'd guess. If Navitas make an offer it 'll be interesting to see if RKH join them - they'd be looking to fund another 35% of a well or two - and that wouldn't be carried by Navitas

They can be analysed indeed but they're still the AVERAGE - that's the problem for you Ocelot - you can't spin a mathematical formulae however hard you try

No - not allowed. You have to indicate the acreage is open and then invite bids. There is a provision I believe, as in the UKCS, for "out of round allocations" but you still have to say who has asked for it and invite competing bids - and the Govt HATE them because it interrupts their plans and timescales and means people have to be moved onto that one application.

I suspect they have an extension - FIG have been very generous over the years with the small fry (tho TBH they didn't have much choice) . But with Sea Lion moving ahead someone is going to have to promise at least one firm well on PL001 otherwise the Licence expires and it becomes open acreage.

You've never claimed to hold stock in any of the companies you post on and have never denied statements that you work for "companies close to " the same outfits. Except for the times you've been on holiday and the kid from college was allowed to operate your account for a weekend or so it's all very cool, and very NEVER a word of criticism of the company.

they never took part in the First Round in the mid '90's when the other big guys came in (Shell, Hess etc etc) - nor have they ever participated since. In fact they have steered well clear over the whole period - I don't think they ever approached any of the small fry like RKH, Desire, Argos etc when they could have hoovered up all the acreage for nothing. I don't think they see it as material compared to other places they operate - and here they'd be buying out RKH to be a small partner of Navitas - not something they really want do. They want to operate so they control their own destiny.

Its only 55,000 bopd at Sea Lion - Rockhopper get 35% of that = 19,250 bopd

BP produce around 2.26 MILLION a day from current operations - Sea Lion would add less than 1% to that - which is why they aren't interested
