The problem here is that they always use the phrase " chance of a encountering hydrocarbons" - that could be anything from 10,000 bopd or a brown smear on the side of the drill string.

It is extremely unlikely that any announcement on FID would take place before the election on 11th December

Navitas aren't stupid enough to start the work by irritating people who might be elected, this time or sometime in the future.

I think the first may have happened once or twice but never the second AFAIK.

However we can be pretty sure that Trafigura have people who actually read the small print of the paperwork and will construct a deal to ensure they inherit the benefit.

I suspect the "discussions" are actually between Trafigura and the other lenders who will also want some of the pie.

because Navitas have a significant interest in a very large field in the USA which is now on production and appears to be performing according to expectations. They also have upside in the FI in a couple of years.

RKH are still a one horse wonder and it's still several years from generating any cash. Which one would you invest in as a Fund manager???

They HAVE to avoid administration .

Under the Licence a bust company cannot hold any Licence onshore or offshore UK. They'd have to relinquish it (without compensation). Also any Joint Operating Agreement means that if there were partners the licence would continue but they'd inherit the interest of the bust party (again without any compensation).

Argos identified their prospects on 3D - way back RKH. Argos & Desire co-operated and shot 3D over a large chunk of the N Basin using 2 boats. They then swapped the data so everyone has the same data set. SO RKH/Navitas can interpret the data over the Argos /JHI block by extending their Sea Lion mapping - all it takes is time and people. I'm sure it was done years ago.

Years ago IIRC someone said that although the well had gas shows over a very large interval the individual sands were very thin - the thickest was less than 10m and most were less than 2m thick and the reservoir quality was poor . That makes production very difficult. It wasn't attractive enough to test. Gas is going to cost you an arm & a leg to produce in the NFB - the FIG don't want a plant onshore so you'd be looking a t a floating LNG plant - and they cost a real fortune.

both wells drilled on PL001 had shows IIRC but nothing very exciting. but the Argos/JHI published maps show a whole slew of targets right across the line from Sea Lion - plus some others way to the west
