that's in the UK - as people keep pointing out the rest of the world actually works in December - it could be right up to the 31st - or even Christmas Day - which is not a public holiday in Israel. Even Hanukkah on Monday 15th Dec isn't a public holiday (tho' almost everyone takes it)

Auditors normally only resign over something big - dodgy books (which I doubt here) or going concern statements. Bet they refused to agree to the latter.

From the Onshore Licences Model Clauses Section 38

Power of revocation

38.—(1) If any of the events specified in the following paragraph shall occur then and in any such case the Minister may revoke this Licence and thereupon the same and all the rights hereby granted shall cease and determine but subject nevertheless and without prejudice to any obligation or liability incurred by the Licensee or imposed upon him by or under the terms and conditions hereof.

(2) The events referred to in the foregoing paragraph are—

(a) any payments mentioned in clause 9(1) of this Licence or any part thereof being in arrear or unpaid for two months next after any of the days whereon the same ought to have been paid;

(b) any breach or non-observance by the Licensee of any of the terms and conditions of this Licence;

(c) the bankruptcy of the Licensee;

(d) the making by the Licensee of any arrangement or composition with his creditors;

(e) if the Licensee is a company, the appointment of a receiver or any liquidation whether compulsory or voluntary;

(f) any breach or non-observance by the Licensee of the terms and conditions of a Development Scheme;

(g) if the Licensee is a company, the Licensee's ceasing to direct and control either—

(i) its operations under the Licence; or

(ii) any commercial activities in connection with those operations

from a fixed place within the United Kingdom;

(h) any breach of a condition subject to which the Minister gave his approval in pursuance of clause 37(2) of this Licence;

(i) any breach of clause 37(5) of this Licence;

And however you cut it they must have enough money to pay some of the debt off.

Just WHY the lenders are happy to see the debt continue to build and not take whatever is available is beyond me. They (the lenders anyway) are not stupid people so there must be a Cunning Plan – and I doubt that’s good news for PI’s

Ralph - you seem desperate to gave FID announced before the end of the month - everyone who looks it agrees it will happen AFTER the election for all teh good reasons that apply in the real world of politics and industry. Does 2 weeks REALLY impact you that badly??

I'm sure Navitas have co-ordinated things with FIG and been told that announcing a massive investment after the election has been called is really frowned upon in the UK. The civil service becomes neutral and only routine matters are decided.

No - they have an interest in JHI - which isn't the same thing. They're not on the licence AFAIK, there is no joint operating agreement. They are a shareholder in a tiny Canadian outfit who are unlisted and you can't trade JHI shares. They also appear to be doing very little.

Hoppa is correct - any serious activity in the Southern Basin is an age away.

We have people on here still sweating that Navitas might postpone Sea Lion - a fully appraised field of several hundred million barrels in relatively shallow water. If that's a doubt the Southern Basin might as well be Mars.

BOR will have to hand the Licence back and it will be a decade or more before anyone lese decides to go looking down there
