I agree that warm water (not steam) geothermal may work - it certainly does in the Netherlands - but it's only been tried on a limited scale in the UK - and mainly in large cities. Hydrogen?? We'll see but I m sceptical; when everyone (EDR, IGas, ANGS, UKOG etc etc ) all seem to be converts and ready to go - reminds me of shale gas in 2012

If I'm sceptical its because over 25 years investing Onshore has been an education in overpromising and under delivering managements

penguins - that only works for the fractures - which is really the Kimm here - there are fracture in the Portland but that's not the main source of the oil - which seems to come from sandstone bands here

That's certainly true of conventional wells, especially offshore where the daily cost is enormous. But , to be fair, onshore in a fractured reservoir with very little other information a test for a few weeks is a good idea and produces a wealth of hard data. But I agree - this has gone on far too long to feel comfortable.

there is no paperwork because its just the BoD jumping on the Alternative Energy bandwagon. They're not alone - every small oiler is screaming about its non-oilp"projects" right now - but they don't really exist............

there was a draft FDP around, they'd tested according to UK standards with modern kit and it wasn't 45 years since the test was carried out I guess..............

In this context, "significant" implies that there is evidence of a sufficient quantity of petroleum to justify estimating the in-place volume demonstrated by the well(s) and for evaluating the potential for economic recovery."

Basur 1 had shows and a short test but was never put on production, Resan only had shows in the Mardin - I don't think a Competent Person would classify either of these as "discoveries" under PRMS . AME are not a quoted company and so do not have to produce a CPR or similar

I'm beginning to think that instead of bugging the company we should call up the Nomad and ask the questions - they'll soon get p****** off and make their feelings known

Wizz - i really wish you well on your quest to get a response from UKOG and I think you are right trying Howard as its clear SS doesn't listen to anyone. I doubt they'll save money by issuing RNS's - in my years on here I don' remember ANYONE getting a substantive answer to any query. A few people used to call the office but it either went to voice mail or a secretary who promised to pass the message on - then silence

UKOG have done the occasional road show on or near site for their drilling but in the sense of "meet the investors" I don't think they have. SS did take Adrian/FTH/on a site tour years back I think - and look how that turned out........

An interview is exactly that - you can throw in words like a Bn barrels possibly, national significance

An RNS is a document with legal consequences if you mislead - plus it has to be checked by others

Wizz - you are basing your numbers on the company statements - not an independent view. The company has never updated the CPR so either they're happy with it or they are afraid to do an update after a dud appraisal and total silence from the company

But Wizz - those numbers for reserves are NOT based on the CPR - that clearly states "Recoverable hydrocarbons Base Case 1.498 MM bbl upside 3.620 mm BBl - their production profile doesn't even reach 1 mmbl in the Upside case.

And the OGA doesn't issue "letters of Comfort" - they approve the FDP but a decision to issue one no endorsement of the numbers - that's not one of the things they use in their checkbox for approval
