I presume that ANGS aren't going for some mad-***** scheme in Cornwall involving high heat, very deep wells and steam so it'll be "warm water" project. There are lots of these in the Netherlands for example
Basically the temperature of the rocks go up with depth and the water in the rocks is quite warm (up to 100C). You pump the water to the surface from one well and then , if possible convert the heat to electricity. At the temperatures seen in E England this isn't likely to be very efficient. More likely you run the hot /warm water through a central heating system to heat a factory, greenhouse or houses. The viability depends on having something close enough to be able to use the water - you can't pump it very far and retain the heat. Out in the middle of E England I'd say a factory or something agricultural is most likely. You pump the cooled water back down another well some distance from the production well so it doesn't cool the aquifer to quickly
I think there have been ground water housing heating system in Nottingham & Glasgow in historic times but that takes some degree of co-operation and control - something the UK is famous for (not!)
Insidious - RE: Very positive RNSToday 14:42 Turkey now lining up there is a good chance of seeing 5p in a few months time....
Interesting - December 2019 Insidious was one of the Black hearted trolls who came near the bottom of the sweep at 1.10p a share - TH2 was in at second with 0.7p :)))))
For once I agree with you Ocelot - it's clear now that everything depends on Turkey - spending more money at HH is a waste of time as it will never be a major earner on those connected volumes. It's probably worth converting HH2z to an injector but they'd be crazy to spend £ 2mm a well on a new Portland producer or a Kimm test when they can spend the same money in Turkey where there is a chance of finding something better IMHO
what does the RNS say - clearly HH2z was a failure - it was supposed to push production to 1000bbl of oil but it's going to be used to inject water. Water is clearly a big issue - you don't go to surge (or On/Off ) production unless you have serious issues
they're going updip for the Portland and the Kimm - but the maps published indicate this isn't a very large area
I'm intrigued that they haven't given up on the Kimm totally - they seem to indicate that a bigger set of fractures might just about make it work.
No new CPR mentioned either
I can see why they're off to Turkey - HH needs a lot of time and money and the big reserves clearly aren't there - and of course its TRANSFORMATIONAL!!
"Think the presentation shows "Weald Basin all fields" in order to highlight the opportunity offered by Basur-Resan."
Hmm - to me it suggests he had to add in the other 12 Weald fields - especially Stockbridge, Singleton, Horndean & Humbly Grove - because the numbers attributable to HH would be so low as to cause... embarrassment.
32 mmbbl for historic Weald production and remaining 2P - Hmm about 2014 around 3.2 mm tonnes had been produced and a further 1.5 mm tonnes was considered proven + possible = 4.7 mm tonnes = approx 34 mm bbl
Doesn't sound like there is much left at HH.......................
