Nonsense - the OGA shows OFFSHORE exploration success rate over the years of 35-40% and about 60% of those are commercial eventually.

Caythorpe? I thought that was a Leman Sand play? I can't find any details of the squeeze but by the PPRS for field production seems to stop in 2000/2001. I know that by 2003 Warwick were looking to convert it to gas storage so it can't have been a very long term improvement - if there was any at all. It then guttered on under Centrica until they pulled the plug due to the UK Govt's lack of support for gas storage
