AFAIK no-one has reprocessed the old data in years - TBH it was well worked over in the '80's, '980's and 00's so you're not going to get much more out of it - it's NEW data that's neeeded. But as you say once the greenies realised they could slow things down by attacking every step of the exploration chain shooting new seismic became very unattractive. It takes almost the same time to get PP, it affects a much wider area (= more protestors) and once you start it's much easier to disrupt than drilling, and the costs for a 3D approach that of drilling a well (which does a lot more for the SP).

No wonder the big boys steer clear of the UK Onshore these days

I think the fact that companies have different depth maps, that Gb2 was a horrible mistake, another well was "drilled on a possible nose" and the very careful wording of the CPR suggests that it's real depth conversion problem - and probably not enough seismic either - a lot of N-S lines but few E-W linking the wells. Looks quite high risk - you either drill a well or shoot more seismic - but that won't make a big difference really. It's well control that is the issue.

Agreed it would take a change in legislation for fraccing the top of the Kimm in HH - but no-one ever had the Kimm as a conventional target like the Portland - it has much more in common with US unconventional plays. SS said what he said because it was the only way to get planning permission IMHO - the fact they have whats his face from Texas a Chairman clearly shows that they were hoping to tap into US unconventional expertise.

as for the IGAS CPR - paid for by Igas and it shows most of the reserves in Igas's acreage... well, well. I very much doubt D&M did anything other than take IGas's maps and use them - the bulk of that CPR is about producing properties elsewhere - exploration is a small, low value, add on

Not so - its clear that the Kimm needs fraccing properly at HH to flow as well - so in fact the whole Kimm Weald play needs fraccing

SS was careful to rule that out in 2015 - it would be a massive shift in both Company and National policy to allow fraccing as per Texas - and a melt down in Tory support in SE England

No -the stock price drops because of the poor performance of the companies, the grossly optimistic forecasts and the massive dilution. A well organised group tries to puff the price so they can play day trader games or, in some cases, support organised pump & dump operations.

neither company may fancy drilling a well 100% - but if they share the costs AND get off the hook withe OGA then I can see it happening. After all its in both their interests to find more gas at Loxley - the final division of the reserves between them will be done by agreement based on mapping post a discovery.

Natural gas prices do nothing for UKOG - they produce no gas and are years away from any chance of doing so
