Traditionally small UK oilers make a dash for overseas when things start to go badly - they can't afford to get into something decent like the N Sea so they go off to Morocco, Tunisia or similar. When all else fails it's very small oil fields in Alberta, Texas or Louisiana (see Northern aka Cabot as an example).

Given that Turkey seems to have been less than a success I suspect SS is happy that he can now travel to N America , where no doubt, his Chairman will be able to introduce him to all sorts of exciting and transformational deals.

I gave up evaluating people by what they wear a very long time ago. A lot of CIty crooks dress very smartly - in fact it's a bit of a giveaway. Sanderson over at UKOG goes for the "artistic look" with blazer, pink bags and a cravat on occasion. David Lenigas dresses as a cowboy - 'nuff said.

Many of them work in such places and they normally pay very well. AWE near the M4 in Berkshire is one of the few places in S England that has a large, functioning, engineering apprentice scheme for example. One of the problems with onshore oil and gas is that it employs so few people locally - many sites are effectively unmanned. If each one employed 50 people from the local village it would be a lot easier to get PP.

There's been a gas facility and drilling at Saltfleetby since 1996 - they've probably all got used to it. Give it another 10 years and they'll want it listed.

It's the BoD 's DUTY to stop this - the fact they haven't over several years suggests the worst possible interpretation of their inaction

Drilling another well is far more expensive than almost any remedial action.

Plus there are clearly major issues in predicting reservoir between wells -. They need to show these wells can flow at reasonable rates before drilling anything else - we've been waiting several years for this to happen

One that produces 95 bopd, a half drilled well in Turkey that might, if we're lucky produce 200 bopd net, a shut in well at Broadford Bridge, an "opportunity "on the IOW that BP themselves walked away from 50 years ago and a gas prospect in the Weald that has severe geotechnical risks

I apologise - you're right of course - BP have a market cap of $ 98 Bn say £ 72 Bn - so SS will issue 4.32 million billion new UKOG shares discounted at 0.12p for friends in the City. It'll also be backed by makers of portable calculators as everyone will need new displays.
