I don't think James means they are "forward selling " in the normal meaning - he seems to mean they know they're getting more share sin a couple of weeks so they'r taking the opportunity now to sell from their current holding to raise cash today.

In 2 weeks time they will be back where they started as regards an interest. I suspect they're doing it ahead of the Budget on 27th ... just in case .....

AJW you are mainly correct but no -one believes that touching or surfaces is important in CV19 transmission. The very early studies suggesting that were carried out with unbelievable high levels of CV19 virus. By May 2020 the Italians had proven that a hospital stuffed with CV19 patients had almost zero cv19 on surfaces.

It's vapour from people's breath. Stay away from people, mask in public, stay in well ventilated places and you REALLY cut your chance of transmission. A friend , who is head of medicine at a major UK Hospital, reckons that cleaning surfaces has been very good for the companies producing wipes and sprays but pointless for stopping infection.

Given your previous forecasts DoneK would you like to add which year these things are going to happen? You are over a year out on your 2020 forecast.

I've followed the UK Onshore for over 25 years - I'd say it was a gradual deterioration with it getting harder and harder as time went on. The greens started to resort to the courts and that really slowed everything down as the councils and the EA then want to be water tight.

Balcombe was a bit of a turning point tho' - it was fueled by anti-fraccing beliefs - the papers had been full of of US fraccing showing well after well and then the greens started peddling the more dubious claims about how it was going to happen here . The change of Govt to a Tory one full of noise about doing the same didn't help.

Since then it's been downhill all the way

Its all great Cynders - but when "they" decide to put a pig farm next to your house or drive a motorway through a local beauty spot you'll be up in arms. The current Planning system grew in response to over development between the wars, the Motorway campaign of the late 50's and '60's and such things as localism and everyone having a say.

O&G onshore UK is almost dead for new developments - that's why the big boys left 20 years ago.

And its not the Govt. - its everyone in the country who objects to ANY change near them. I doubt anyone on this board would back a new large development at the bottom of their street for any reason

Nonsense - no-one with any brains expected this IoW to be approved - it's only the day traders who ran the price up in the hope they'd get lucky - they haven't so its back to square one

This nonsense I'm afraid - all the onshore companies spend a fortune on Professional Advice. The councils do to - and they all say normally its fine to drill.

The Councillors have to be elected tho', and they listen to their electorate who don't want O&G development under ANY circumstances (and very little of any other development either). They vote against it so they can be re-elected. They don't care that its likely to be overturned in 12 months time by a Public Enquiry and more cost - they have no responsibility and suffer no adverse reaction from the voters .

Every oil company now plans for this course of events - SS would have had a heart attack if they'd actual nodded it through.
