Yup. Let's hope EDR don't mess this one up again and EOG just stand by and watch it happen. EOG need to be proactive in the review process before the application is submitted. I would recommend they employ a specialist to do that as clearly they have demonstrated they are incapable of reviewing these types of documents.

I would like to think that EDR are on the case and have had their own autopsy meeting, followed by bringing in the partners for their take. Unfortunately I have lost faith in our lot as they are yet to prove they are doers rather than watchers. Anything done onshore near environmentally sensitive areas requires a duty of care. You need the right people to put the environmental impact assessment together along with other safety issues. You show evidence that you have covered it and met the public then chances are it will get through. Oil is now 67 USD and EOG break even was 35 USD if I recall if wressle came through. Hugh and his world class team did not give this the attention it deserves.

J this should have been done in the first place. Clear lack of professionalism and experience from all involved. It will cost more money as they will have to have the application prepared by professionals and preferrably have successfully completed the process before. I don't know why our world class wkers could not advise or insist upon it previously.

Yup, unfortunately this company are now beginning to smell like a lot of AIM wannabees. Promising the moon but don't have a rocket. The SP will recover on the back of Angs and ukog and possibly the appeal being successful. After that same old same old? If there is a change of personnel I might be convinced to stick around for the Irish ride. EOG sp rise to 9p was not of its own making and that is clearly evident now.

correction - On January 2nd 2017 the SP was 5.5p with a placing to come.

BOD have messed up big style in obtaining planning permission or delaying getting it for both Holmwood and Wressle. They needed somebody to ensure that all bases where covered as far as EIA was concerned. That would have then shown true Leadership. I just hope the current BOD have learned from their mistakes. They need to split the company up in terms of managing onshore UK assets and Irish Offshore. And Hugh if your reading any of this there is no point in shouting about another 1 trillion cf of gas when you have not shown anyone your capable of extracting it. Get some oilers on your team fgs!

Agreed - No Wressle approval and Holmwood Drill in Q1 2018 and they all should go. Get a BOD in that moves this company forward and knows what a drill bit looks like.

Tovoc, I would argue the case that both EOG and EDR did not prepare themselves properly to reply to the many valid objections that may be raised. The containment of chemicals and the movement of heavy wagons on public roads should all have been addressed. That's why we are here now and any professional outfit would have had all bases covered. EDR look like they have finally learned this so I have confidence in Wressle appeal having a successful outcome. As for Holmwood, its been over a month since the deferral and we have not heard a dicky bird from EOG. That I am afraid is par for the course for them. It would be great to think that they have spent this time going through everything to address the issues of the deferral decision but we are not hearing any evidence of this. As for offshore easier... I will leave you with that belief.
