Bojo@ it really depends on the deal and who the buyer is. Also, there will be a transition period where you will not receive the shares in the buyer company and in that time their SP can drop leaving you stranded. If the market thinks they overpaid then SP will fall too. My own personal experience is to wait until near the deadline (in case of a rival bid). Then SELL and take your money and run. You can always then buy into the takeover company if you feel it is a worthwhile investment.

I live in the far east and as a result of shutting airports and movement control orders deaths from Covid are tiny compared with UK and other EU countries like Spain and Italy. These politicians especially from my native UK could not organise the proverbial brewery p!ss up. I also question the competencies of the so called “experts” they claim to take advice from. Now we hear they want to do business with Roche for their antibody test. Yet we hear nothing about them discussing testing solutions with our home grown Avacta company. I don’t think it will be too long now before our CEO says “wake up buffoons – we have a big solution!” Although I expect he will phrase it more politely.

Don't worry about the cheap comments that come from some on this board. Each has various levels of knowledge about the stock, intelligence and their own agenda. There will be some who genuinely want to help. There will be day traders who one day will be bullish and the next bearish if it helps their position. Then there are the ones who want to pick a fight from the luxury of their keyboards - the latter you normally find scattered around with abnormally large numbers of posts. If you buy the magazine "very very sad people" their faces are normally on the front cover. I wish you well with your investments.
