Hello Roger, by my understanding a dividend will be treated as income rather than a capital gain. I think you will be subject to CGT if you sell your shares, and income tax if you wait for the divi. Please do take professional advice on this.
Hi Bill,
These do look like sensible figures, but I am still amiss at why the general consensus now is around 60-70p in terms of divi amount. There was a poll on this BB late last year, where the average pps averaged at around £1.30. What has changed? Is the thought now that we We were all being outlandish with the previous predictions, or has the split of assets that will be sold changed in people's minds? Or indeed has the divi split (80%+ paid vs. 20% retained) made people think that the divi received will be substantially less. I can't remember the exact average for the poll last year, but the general thinking now is that the divi will be in the region of 50% of what was previously thought.
The JORC will give us much more insight (I suppose), but I still think we may all be pleasantly surprised by the asset sale figures especially if there has been other parties involved in bidding. I still have hopes for £1+ (post costs and split).
Hi Ian,
HNY to you. Please could you put me down for significant news on Thursday 13th Jan. My view is that it will take a few days to get up and running after Russian Christmas celebrations and then they will lob a firecracker into 2022. Thanks, Mincho.
So, I have been thinking about why the BOD have released just one of the JORC's and a smaller one at that. Could it be that they are firing a warning shot across the bows of those hedging against the business before they release the kraken? I can't understand why they would only haver one done and not the others and postulate that they are sitting on the desk ready to be signed and released...
With this train of thought, it can surely only be days (or even hours) until release of more, if not all, of the JORC's. You've had your warning and poke to close your short, now face the reaper if you haven't heeded it?
It's only conjecture of course, but I do have a spidey sense for the main course over the next few days.

It's old hat Postman. He was trying to stick the boot in when EUA was suspended in 2020. Like many others before and after him, this negative ninnie sidled away with his tail between his legs. Looking forward to the same for the current crop of morons.
I can't read or say "young man" without thinking of the Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse old ladies sketch.
Bet you're all doing an impression as you read this....

Spot on Mac - May I also add that I used to organise large business events, and if a business came to us at the last minute, with either great news (or a significant budget!) we used to find some space from them. I just don't swallow the "it's been organised for months, so can't tie in" line. If they are to discuss something seismic, the organisers of the event would find them a slot, as it would raise the profile of the show, amongst other things.
