In recent years 2 countries who had never asked to be united agreed to separate. Of course there will have been individuals who preferred unity, or who found themselves wrong side of the border, but it has been respected, that's democracy.

In 1938 an aggressor used force to annexe an area of the country. This was claimed to be in order to liberate an ethnic/linguistic minority, but in reality just a step to taking the whole country plus adjoining and other countries. Millions died; if you had a tardis you would stop it there.

Brixt yes I think so (& so does Heid). North Sea offshore is exacting work, they deserve good compensation and conditions. Its a lot easier in a field in Lincs., home for real tea, see the kids read them a story, etc..
