RE: How things change19 Sep 2018 01:23
The answer that Tanesco give LC is the only way we will understand what is actually happening. We will probably get that answer by the end of this week. That Tanesco have not answered may suggest they may be confused by the question:)
If and it is a BIG IF the PPA remains as is and does not fall under the new proposals as it is so far advanced, this may be a very good opportunity. The sepco connection is looking more and n more like an astute piece of management by LC. Acacia certainly seem to think the 'Chinese connection'' this is the way forward. Kibo is well advanced in that direction.
With Tg leaving BITS the number of companies stepping forward to tender is going to be reduced. Internal rules of those companies may prevent dealing in places where a BITS treaty is not in place. The Chinese will not be affected by such considerations as share holder meetings and other such pesky details.
LC knows how big the ''in country risk'' is, knows it better than most. probably knows how many companies have peeked at Tanzania, baulked and walked. I suspect he knows the realty that few companies are going to be interested without BITS as a back stop.
I do see why this could represent a fantastic opportunity to a well connected small company. I certainly do not see a home company making any progress, they just do not have what it takes. Tancoal saga being a prime example.
Having followed my own guidance and taken time to think this through some more. I am more relaxed about this now.
Yes Tanseco could ruin my week if they come to a different party!!
