Scoutt- SNG001 is not a cure or a vaccine. Hopefully, and I’m confident it will keep people alive long enough for them to make enough antibodies and importantly off ventilators. This drug has potential multiple uses in the area of respiratory viral infection .

No Skegness it was ended by AZN because the market wasn’t deemed to be feasible from there viewpoint. I believe testing was difficult too because of lack of subjects but it’s a positive that there are pathways between SNG and AZN. In deed Professor Wilkinson is also working with AZN down in Southampton currently.

Either way it’s a great dilemma for shareholders if it happens!. I just think a pharma would want the drug not necessarily the company??. I’d see it more of a sale of that or licensing agreement. Medium to long term must be more value in that to shareholders as they could take a percentage from any drugs sales for years to come. Also how do they put a value on SNG001 for treatment against COPD or Asthma!?. Usage of SNG001 on a global scale under license would still be huge!.

Good decision I think Chrishar. Also worth remembering going on the peaks you will if you choose too get opportunity to cash out at a higher SP given the confidence I have of positive news before the trial results. That’s not to say the shares won’t jump about but from what I gather that is the AIM market. Relatively low liquidity allows the price to jump around a lot. None of it matters except the product. If you have faith in that and I do then the SP will take care of itself. GL.:)

What I have never seen on this BB is a sound medical reason why this drug wouldn’t work. Work meaning to severely reduce the viral infection in the lower respiratory tract. By definition this then would mean it is almost certain to be effective. The unknown is by what extent. That, nobody knows until the results are back. Buckle up Chrishar and enjoy the ride otherwise you’ll have done three weeks worrying for nothing!.:)

Boston - I think you are basing that on the different viruses and ailments it’s been used to treat so far. I’m no Doctor but the reason this was highlighted as a potential treatment in the first place was the reaction that virologists saw when conducting trials in Asthma. Namely a significant antiviral response. Interferons help create immune cells, kill infected cells by destroying RNA (replication process of a cell), and alert healthy cells to rally against a hostile infection. At least that is my understanding having done some research. They can orchestrate the antiviral response. This doesn’t need an added drug to make this happen. The Chinese used a two prong approach which Alpha 2b was one part. That’s pretty significant in itself. It isn’t a minor part in any shape or form. I believe also SNG001 could play a huge role in early days of diagnosis which may lead to patients not requiring hospitalisation. This I believe is part of the testing currently, on less severe patients in early stage of diagnosis. Either way I agree it isn’t a cure, but could possibly be the next best thing. The Chinese and more Governments/Health Authorities seem to be thinking so at any rate.

Well the Chinese are actively using it along with Spain and Germany and numerous others. Hardly a well kept secret. Once trial results are back all will be good. If you don’t have the minerals to wait then sell and take your chances elsewhere :) GLA

Just need to let the process run its course. We all want news but I console myself in the fact that SNG are doing everyhting correctly, they have a good product, a good team in place, they are not solely in the lab looking for funding. They are at the coalface over multiple sites and funding is in place. Other drugs are being promoted and one by one falling down due to dodgy efficacy or lack of scrutinized testing. Lets just be patient. Placement holdees may sell they may not, but does it really affect the prospects or the knowledge we have of the company/drug? No. Hold firm and I'm pretty convinced we will be in a much better place in the coming few weeks than we are now with the SP. Market Cap around 90million will look ridiculous if this drug shows any degree of efficacy.

The press is fickle sharesting. I’m happy for the company/drug to do the talking. Should it be as successful as we hope then it will sell itself to everyone including the press.

It basically said any vaccine ready in a matter of months won’t be good enough for wide scale use but just to give front line workers some added protection.

When the University of Oxford’s Adrian Hill told the Guardian that his group’s Covid-19 vaccine candidate could be ready by the summer, it was this kind of readiness to which he was probably referring. The group, led by Sarah Gilbert, has since stated that a vaccine shown to be effective in phase-3 clinical trials that could be manufactured in large quantities won’t be ready before the autumn even in a best-case scenario. And that scenario is “highly ambitious and subject to change”.

That isn’t us obvs SNG 001 is Interferon Beta 1a not Alpha. Great news if it does work. Out of interest I remember reading but can’t remember where in a research piece that Interferon Beta 1a is 14 times more powerful in infected cell suppression than Alpha 1b. For all that is said about Cuba they have always had excellent research teams and great healthcare for their citizens. They aided China in setting up manufacture in Interferon.

Phoenix - I suspect we may get an update on trial numbers too. That would just be a progress report. Like we got told the first patient had been dosed.

Jimtom- I doubt it will be eight weeks. That was the stated length by the CEO but I would think that would be worst case scenario as he wouldn’t want to disappoint the market by overrunning and also that was before the NIHR stated this was an urgent public health trial so assuming they are lending their considerable weight and potentially testing in more centres then this should expedite the SG016 trial. I wouldn’t want to hazard a guess but if original was 8 weeks this should be bit shorter in my opinion. We are about three weeks in now so not too long to wait imo.
