yes Chris, for over £200m for Asthma treatment but fell through. Although showed lots of promise aginst virus replication with Asthma sufferers who had colds/flu. Not a big enough market for AZN though. This virus plays to SNG's strength though. namely suppressing replication of infected cells.

I'm not suggesting it did happen but clearly anyone sniffing around SNG would have a great opportunity to buy in knowing that a lot of placement shares are going to be flooding the market suppressing the SP. The next few few sessions will be telling in that scenario I guess.

can you imagine the impact of a fast test result which hopefully will arrive and then combination of SNG001. May well prevent large numbers proceeding to hospital. Vaccine in 12-18 months job done. However, any new virus strains emerge in the next 5 years and SNG001 is fully tested and licensed and ready to go, by which time Governments will have stockpiled.

Seems reasonable to assume that catching patients in early state of infection would produce better results, less virus replication to deal with at that point. although I believe the drug will still have efficacy over a longer period based on other studies in vivo using IFN Beta 1a

Synairgens method of delivery surely must be beneficial compared to injection of IFN B1a?. Doesn’t enter the bloodstream so less chance of side effects and is delivered straight to the problem area (the lungs).

Not sure Synairgen being a small biotech no one has heard of is quite accurate. I mean the last RNS mentioned as we all know the NHIR saying their product requires urgent consideration. That’s the research arm of the NHS!. Being on their radar is good enough for me let alone any potential international links which SNG have referred to as well. Also, I believe the different death rates of infected in different geographics could be partly explained by different strains of the virus, brought to light by Chinese research recently there apparently is over 33 different strains of the virus. The Washington area being less deadly than the northern Italian outbreak for example.

Ironic they can rush a vaccine trial but can't even provide frontline workers with PPE. The way this government has gone about things I suspect this is a hopeful attempt at providing healthcare workers with some protection. It wont be for general population use for quite some time.

Their is a lot of ifs, buts and maybe's in there. Personally I would rather see the company agree licensing agreements. I'm happy leaving bulk of my money in SNG long term tbh.

I agree with that Manifesto, apart from speculating about current share price. Last night i was reading about a small test using INF Beta 1a on monkeys (so in vivo) who had been given Marburg virus and Ebola. The Ebola hosts life expectancy was 8 days longer than the placebo hosts. All subjects died but to extend life against such a virulent disease was quite something. In Marburg virus it made a much bigger difference with the group treated with IFN Beta 1a making a much better fight of it and incredibly one monkey being cured after testing free of the virus. He lived for a 110 days and was then euthanised. I think the link to a lot of the research undertaken is that IFN B 1a is a great suppressant of infected cell replication. From what I understand of the research of the drug in Asthma was that the drug itself did not really impact the condition but it was noted that there were very strong indications of benefit for those Asthma patients who also had colds/flu etc, which also supports strong evidence of suppressing infected cell replication. That basically is what is needed with the sufferers of COVID19. Thats why i have a lot of faith in this product.
