Yahoo deciding to sell off domains that it once held of significant value in light of the new gtlds coming online makes perfect sense to me and "reading between the lines" suggests Yahoo percieves the new gtlds "could" significantly influence this sector - make your own assumptions, draw your own conclusions and then decide what you do with your money.

A bit unexpected to be honest but probably very necessary in order to strengthen their position before doing battle at the auctions. Elliot Noss joining the team can only be seen as a great addition for a company focused on growth and expansion. As AVC mentioned in the vid this industry is a small world and i would imagine keeping Minds and Machines in the name is strategic.
