Found this heart wrenching post on the GGP - What a lovely Xmas for her!18 Dec 2020 23:57
I am writing this with tears in my eyes, as it has been a life changing day for me. I originally bought into GGP before Newmont walked away from EG with an initial £5K investment, which was serious money for me. My average was 1.97p and initially I was hoping for 6p, but when that fateful Monday morning RNS dropped I was devastated and decided I had to hold. I have MS and had to finish work 4 years ago after a significant relapse and financially it has been a struggle. For the first year I concentrated on being mobile again and then for the last 3 years I have read this board intently and listened to the extremely knowledgeable and selfless contributors who have shared their endless research (I will be forever grateful to each and every one of you) and decided to sit on my hands, as I had a dream of owning a luxury apartment in Turkey (my husbands homeland). The climate helps my illness immensely and I decided my target would be 35p, as this would get me my dream. I cannot believe today my target was reached and I now have the money sat in my HL shares and isa account. I am 55 on 28th December and can access my company pension, so to be able to purchase an apartment outright is incredible and beyond my wildest dreams. Unlike many LTH's here I don't have time to wait for even bigger returns, as I need to have a quality of life. The vitamin d levels I will now receive spending 6 months of the year in Turkey will be amazing and as my Neurologist has often advised I need as high a level as I can get to prevent further debilitating relapses. My personal circumstances have made me sell, but this is only the beginning for GGP and I hope you all fulfill your own dreams with this share. I will end this post by wishing you all a wonderful christmas and fantastic new year!
