Gentlemen, I would have thought by now that you would have realised that I don't respond to your demanding, presumptuous and disrespectful catcalling. The facts speak for themselves, the price currently sits at 55.5p. Anyone who has traded, that is both bought and sold may be, at best be in a neutrel position, awaiting the benefits of a recovery. On the other hand, those who have stubbornly bought whatever the trend and whatever the cost, have much ground to make up. Chiding me for stating such facts will not make your money back.

The news follows the group’s recent half-year results. These showed that headline operating profit fell by 29% to £40.1m during the six months to 30 June, compared with the same period last year. Management tried to put a positive spin on these figures by pointing out that they were better than the second half of 2017. That’s true. But this doesn’t disguise the fact that Interserve ended the period with increased net debt of £614.3m. This is more than six times trailing earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA). The company’s lenders won’t allow it to pay a dividend until the group’s net debt-to-EBITDA ratio falls below 2.5x. In my view this is unlikely to happen until the company holds a rights issue to raise fresh cash from shareholders. What comes next? Analysts’ forecasts suggest the City holds a similar view. Although adjusted earnings are expected to triple to 19.3p per share next year, the current share price of 56p puts the stock on a 2019 price/earnings ratio of just 3. In my opinion this indicates that the market doesn’t expect Interserve to deliver a sustainable recovery without raising fresh cash and diluting shareholders. I agree. I believe these shares are simply too risky for equity investors at the moment. I’d stay well away.

I do agree that buy high sell low makes no sense, so why is that your strategy? If this had been sold on the way down instead of being a 'strong buy' at 120, 100, 90, 85, 80, 77, 75, 69, 67, 66, 65, 60, still a strong buy at 59, 58, 55, well you would have some money to load up now wouldn't you! Of course I have woken up and smelled the coffee too (quite some time ago)

Why always buy or hold? Why never sell? Doesn't seem like much of a strategy.

The support services and construction company has agreed to sell its Infrastructure and Industrial access and hard services business to Enigma Industrial Services. The company will receive cash consideration of around £3.6 million, with the potential for a further cash payment of £1 million subject to the business achieving certain financing targets for the 2018 and 2019 financial years. The sale concludes the company’s exit from its industrial contracting activities. It follows the closure of the company’s power activities earlier in the year. The business comprised Interserve’s provision of scaffolding services to housebuilders and other contractors, as well as its Scaffolding Insulation & Painting (SIP) services to large industrial sites. The proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce the company’s debt levels. This is a sensible move in my view, since its balance sheet remains highly leveraged compared to some of its sector and index peers. Looking ahead, the prospects for the company’s share price remain uncertain to my mind. It is towards the start of what could be a prolonged period of change, with a restructuring set to refocus the business on its core areas. Alongside this, cost reductions could help to strengthen the performance of the business over the coming years. In the current year, though, Interserve is expected to report a significant fall in profitability. This could have a negative impact on investor sentiment to my mind. As a result, it is not a stock that I feel particularly bullish about at the moment. Although I feel that it is putting in place the right strategy through which to deliver improved operational and financial performance, it may take time for it to make a successful recovery. Therefore, at the moment it is a stock I’m happy to keep on my watchlist.

Back down to 56 today, has held here previously. Appears as though all those clowns with their rampant ramping have all but disappeared, which is unsurprising considering the embarrassment they were causing themselves! Still, the second it ticks over 60, I am sure they'll be back!

Crucially, no news whatsoever on disposals and the clock is ticking on those debt payments.

Dear oh dear, about half the price from when I was told at 113p that this was a fantastic buy! Is this going to keep sinking like the proverbial 'lead balloon' or is it another great buying opportunity (for those who haven't wasted their cash buying shares at silly prices that is)?

I do find it amusing that Mr McDonnell simultaneously believes in share ownership for employees of listed companies and intends for shares to be distributed to employees whilst also believing that Royal Mail employees who hold shares should have theirs taken off them with the only compensation being making them bond holders.
