This divi looks very attractive here, could we be looking at a divi trap? Thoughts welcome.

I would suggest the driver being lack of volume due to lack of confidence in the share as a result of the high debt levels. The macroeconomic situation sits in the background, as the markets slip (look to see if 6888 on the FTSE is breached) investors will retreat to defensive stocks of which IRV is not. History will repeat itself and this time will be no different.

To be fair, speculators here probably get what they deserve from the board, that is to say, why should the BOD be overly bothered about getting the SP to increase just so it can be sold off at a profit for greedy PI's?

That is quite an assumption you make about why some short positions have been reduced. The fact that the reduction in the short positions hasn't seen an increase in SP should be considered rather worrying.

Why do people think that just because the price is 'cheap'it makes it a take over target? If that were the case then CPI, RMG, AA the list goes on.... they would be takeover targets too. (I see on their BBs the same speculation ensues. No, the price is low because the share is only seen a good buy by those who have ran out of cash.

Interesting that you have jumped to the conclusion that a whisper of good news on Brexit caused the after hours spike. If I were you I would be more concerned that the government could fall in a matter of weeks if the DUP vote down the budget.
