Whatever, they could ban shorting all together, it wouldn't stop listed companies, that are unable to pay their rent from going pop!

It is hilarious watching all the bear cases being rejected (media reports are unreliable, its all a Mike Ashley conspiracy etc etc) then watching the same people scratch their heads and wonder why the SP keeps going down!

I mean the basic argument against shorting here has now descended to something along the lines of: 'Its not fair, those with long positions have made the wrong call and the price keeps going down, the shorters who are much brighter have called it right, its not fair, it shouldn't be allowed." Come on!

The repeated profit warnings and increasing debts level have a far greater effect than any shorting does. Get on top of those problems and the shorting goes away.

Short sellers are a symptom not a cause. The Deb board should concentrate on running a business that can make a profit and get the debt down- thats how short attacks are prevented.
And if they are too incompetent to manage that, they should resign and handover to someone with an outstanding track record and the cash to back themselves up, someone like Mike Ashley. They should be begging him to save this company.

Certainly the in thing pre pack at the moment and gives the lenders/board the option to prevent certain parties from getting hold of assets.
Of course its a salt the earth option as it leaves shareholders with nothing.

5% holding in Deb has just been sold by Invesco fund. Huge lack of confidence shown there.

Lots of warnings, all ignored. All these PI's moaning that they have been shafted, well most of them couldn't be bothered to vote for the refinancing last spring, couldn't be bothered to block the 125% bonus at the AGM last summer. And quite frankly most of them couldn't be bothered to attend Fridays meeting. Sorry, but they have little to complain about.

Not what I expected, clearly investors want to stay in this sector, similar gains at Galliford try.
