BP just bought another 1.16% of Shah Denis field and last month bought a bit more of Andrew’s field so they are still very much in oil if they see value

Paul,also remember to make sure and cash in on any shares with large gain as by the following year they may have too much profit if you sell(not a bad problem to have but never give the tax man if possible,again sure it’s something you already know but sometimes worth stating the obvious,as can be lost in the thinking about the task)

With some shares it’s maybe possible to get a predicable movement around ex div or results day so you can sell and then buy is isa at a later date when it suits.
It’s never a guarantee but some you will win,sp graph will let you see if this happens often with each individual share.(sure you already know this)
With hindsight it’s often easy to pick shares that follow this pattern,It’s what I will be trying myself.My other plan is to buy first in ISA then sell the others only when above the price when bought into ISA(need to have spare funds for this)

Think Bernard really trying to get his message across.
At some point wider market will get it.
If it truly does what he thinks 10-15 years from now BP will have found the bits that truly work and backed them to the hilt,BP will then be a very different company.
It all makes sense when he tells it,and there are some mega streams of cash generation if it all works(just my opinion)

Mark that’s a whole hour without a post so thought I’d go looking for something and found that BP originally is credited with being responsible for popularising the Individual Carbon footprint calculator (as it devised one of the first calculators).

No actually. Worked at Grangemouth Refinery and spent many an afternoon sampling the Hydrocracker vessel which exploded at a later date (definitely not due to me).I know what oil looks like and smells like (and actually tastes like)

Not a green activist worked for BP for 25 years anyway think you in wrong company as now it an energy company

Smithy if you read the roguetrader article on BP a week or so ago he also did one on SSE ,which does sound interesting Telgraph says SSE renewables now in play so someone will buy why not us?

Telegraph got article trying to suggest BP buy SSE renewables as a way to get big in wind all in one go
Would be the BP way to do things ,but only trying to match make at present.
Did note separately that BP and SSE did a small deal in North Sea so they do talk

Smithy think you are correct thr day traders have been scared out of market for now.
When only the Looney bunch are left buyback will be in charge of the sp so think that’s a way off yet.
Hope buy back got turbocharged with this latest buying opportunity.
Just wonder if whoever is in charge of buyback managed to negotiate a performance based contract, cos they must have gamed a much bigger effect on sp from buyback

Just had a look at some BP hydrogen info ,the 6 projects listed had BP with 10 different partners and 5 of the six were green hydrogen,looks like BP not putting all eggs in one basket but trying to get best practice and best partner to go forward.

Think there seems to be a change in how BP is being reported ,don’t know if BP has started to try and sell the new green BP more or if it’s being slowly accepted that we are serious in our green plan.
If you google BP news in last week there always are at least one positive news item, and on a day like today ,the green hydrogen story is covered on multiple sites.
I think 2025 is the year when green starts to become more real as that seems to be a key date for several projects (imho)
