Noticed last week that BP had bought up another 2% in Fionaven field that’s the 3rd time in last couple of weeks they have increased stakes in fields they know really well.
It would appear that this 40% cut in crude production is very targeted,,guess there is a master plan it’s just not always easy to understand all the subtle parts

Some really useful posting on here today.
Hopefully next year all this excellent research will only need to be carried out in how to spend our £millions as BP starts to motor

Paul find that data interesting,can you continue to publish as you update,as saves us all repeating the research (preferably as a new topic so easy to follow in future).
Only point I would make is they talk about 3 week lag between infection and deaths rising so figures might relate to infections from a couple of weeks ago each time,but all that information is there in what you have shown

The problem with both covid an flu is when a local area NHS gets overwhelmed.
Then we have people in ambulances and trolleys for hours and treatment degrades.
The answer obviously for both covid and flu is even more resources to the NHS so this does not happen (not more restriction on all),but that’s a different political argument,as it costs a lot of money.
Any of us in A&E with a loved one would always want more resources,but until then are not keen on paying for it.

Very interesting only time will tell.
Would say it’s less of an investment gamble now than 1st ,2nd or 3rd lockdown.
It would be good if this does play out with as few as possible hospitalisations

It always surprises me when an unvaccinated person is interviewed after the death of an unvaccinated family member, they always after telling how bad it was ,almost as a badge of pride say I’m still not getting vaccinated.
It’s harsh to say but maybe the purpose of covid is to get rid of the stupid

Have been doing some reading up about the new covid variant and since it’s Christmas thought I would share my thoughts with you.
If this variant is less deadly that will be a huge bonus.
In one London hospital 11 patients are in intensive care and 9 of them are unvaccinated(this is delta covid).
If new variant is at least as deadly as delta the price to pay will be high in deaths of unvaccinated.
What does this all mean for BP and Oil price
In my opinion this is the last major infection,because how can a new variant replace something so infectious that it can infect 50% of people in a room and double infections every 2 days.
There will be local flair ups after this one but they will be in areas which have been lucky so far and have no local immunity.
In summary think it’s really how high number of deaths become,but think if ever replaced by a even worse variant then oh sh*t.
How qualified am I to decide all this (I am not I was an industrial chemist)

During first lockdown I was filling car with tank of fuel possibly every 6 weeks.
After first lockdown lifted it was probably once per month.
Think since the summer it’s probably been sometimes as often as twice in a month.
If you feel your usage is similar,and this covid variant turns out to be less deadly,
maybe results time in Feb will help you decide to stay a while yet.
Someday the sp will rise to level which lets you get out with a profit.
I am well aware that everyone sees this share differently depending on you entry level, obviously anyone that bought at about £5 and then got their dividend slashed
finds it hard to love .
Those that bought below £2 wonder what all the fuss is about.
Just my thoughts but I do think more cars and vans on roads and also petrol stations are always busy (more than what used to be normal)

Not sure if I am right but believe that if you were made redundant you could claim the proportion of you save scheme you had paid up ,as shares with your 10% ? discount so it is possible that since headcount went down maybe employee share scheme will have been higher than a normal year

No the number of shares given to employees is small compared to number bought back which are then cancelled

The employee share scheme (not the board scheme) used to be very much aimed at those at the sharp end who make us shareholders all our profits ,and was only authorised if certain targets were met.eg on safety (lost time accidents etc) also completion under budget and on time and things like that.
Although seen as a perk it was designed to get your workers to buy into you success.
Hope it still meets these aims

Mark think I passed obese in BP a while ago
I have about 10 times BP in value for any other stock in my portfolio.(about 10 stocks).
Still relaxed about them but really need to get to about £5 and then take some of the table .
Learned at Oil Spill too many eggs in one basket

Still undecided here as very very overweight in BP as have kept thinking it’s so so cheap
Head says no but something else says one day we will look back at these prices and wish we had been even more bold

Usually would expect next 5 or 6 days to be up days so those reinvesting div get caught in a suckers rally

I cannot understand why our market stays so undervalued when BT someone has bought 15% of.

Vodafone share buyback
Unilever share buyback
Kingfisher (B &Q and Screwfix) share buyback
Diageo share buyback
That’s a lot of money being added instead of coming out as dividend

2 share splits since then so each share now worth 4 so no to bad it’s the last 11 years since Oil Spill that BP have been a big disappointment.

I freely admit don’t know what I am talking about but would Russia invade now as winter arrives ,when a sudden bad snow storm could destroy their timetable and swing advantage back to defenders.Don’t think it’s quite like the Hitler Moscow situation, but things can change weather wise very quickly,although if anyone know how to fight in the winter I would guess it’s the Russians.
Probably now wake up tomorrow to be proved so wrong

Maybe in 5 or more years merge with another oil company which has greened,then float the oil part of both business as a stand alone oil company ,then all shareholders can decide what the want to stay invested in oil or green or both.
All decommissioning expenses to go with oil company leaving a very green company and a very oily company
