Someone posted about great link here previously about an investor in the 1930s who consistently best the market by buying good companies after crash and selling when he thought it was toppy.

Put in some effort Mosh. You have to bring something to the table. None of us give advice. You have to be regulated to do that. I'd recommend reading this thread for the past year as well as past couple of years of tweets from accounts like Riddler and Rememberthefuture rtf83 . The others may have some other ppl to follow and avoid. Figure out what you want to achieve and how. Cams good with off the radar stocks which have explosive potential as well as trades for variety of stocks/reasons ranging from macro to pump and dumps to drill results to the more esoteric. Some on here are into funds or dividend paying stocks. All depends what you're trying to achieve. Think carefully about what you want and how you'd feel if you lost it all and go from there. Avoid going all in. Disaster. Also recommend scaling into a position and trading around a. Core. I can't make any suggestions on selling because I suck at it.

Therein lies the dark side my friend ;) tell me to bugger off, but I think you'd be better off cancelling that all or nothing (worse, as it goes beyond nothing into further debt) roll of the dice. You need to get in the right mind set again for a new 10,000 challenge using your own funds and trading nouse to graft your way out of your present situation. That might mean cashing in your chips for a bit, staying off AIM and building some reserves up again. Take care of rent, food, relationships and health as a byproduct. Leverage at your low base is a recipe for disaster my friend. Things can easily spiral out of control. Reset button required. Slap own face. Cold water bath and all that shyte. Fully expecting the p*ss off reply now, but I've always been one to say what I think/intervene than keep quiet. I can at least say I tried.

Re O&G - it would appear so or, as you say, people are just wise to it now. There is a long road ahead, which has probably tempered the increase today. Perhaps the market and its participants are just maturing? Perhaps, with lots of the rubbish being swept off of AIM and with it fewer PIs willing to chase the spike, we're getting to the point where sensible, incremental rises / rerates occur and buy and hold in the right minnows can pay (as it should!)? Thinking about it, a few of my plays CLNR (Shell), STAR (Bosch), NCCL (GE), INFA (Blue Chip tbc) do have household name partners which does lend itself to longevity. Still a good idea to top slice if you can though. Should I have sold some at 4p? I'm not sure. Felt too cheap... Let's see if the weekend papers make any difference on Monday. S

They can JOG on at 4p. Will this will rise in anticipation of first drill? More licences to be optimised. Shell might attract some other blue chip attention and / or iis. Gonna hold like an idiot again but trust me guys I was prepared to sell this time.

I can only get off of 4p on my stock which is derisory. Will watch for this to hit mainstream need outlets and see if an uptick but should be north of 5-6p imho. If I'm offered 5p to sell, I'll sell 25% and whack it into STAR or RMS
