The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Matterhorn..... thanks again for your great input here.
Am I correct in saying that an active comparator would have to be a licensed drug, that is currently being used to treat Covid? In which case, in your opinion, which drug/s would they be?
Schrow.... I believe that P2 home took longer than it should've due to the unexpected 79% improvement figure.... from memory it was triple checked as they couldn't quite believe the amazing results, before announcing them, and that took extra time of course.
I think it would be hard not to believe that there has been ongoing data..... given the urgency to find a therapeutic like this one... but as you say... would be great to here from someone more knowledgeable on here?
Naewise.... yes.... it's proven safety record and lack of ADR's.
From the research I have done I would be happier taking SNG for a respiratory viral infection than antibiotics for a bacterial one.... with all the downsides that antibiotics have.
I'm not sure some investors here have grasped what a massive effect a safe agnostic antiviral drug could have on the world.
The financial reward of owning a small part of a company that can produce one is hard for me to comprehend.... but certainly many multiples of where we are now.
SNG just have to prove it with hard data...... which is what they need to concentrate on, and what we WANT them to concentrate on.... not giving us wishy washy assurances to prop up the SP that so many other companies do.
Thanks Kevin.... indeed, watching RM is why I invested in the beginning when I was looking for a Covid investment back in March 2020, and why I didn't invest in Tiziana; because of what I though of their CEO.
I also have the benefit of knowing someone who knows RM well, who vouched for his absolute integrity in all things. Honesty, when investing in other peoples businesses is my number one priority.
We have all come so far.... just a bit more patience required!
Naewise.... we must all to what feels right for us. I have a lot of shares in this, for me, and over the past 18 months I have thought about reducing my holding, though predominantly when Phase 2 was taking an age between last patient dosed and manic monday, and then the vaccine news/drop. There were a lot of investors who sold out the week before manic monday, there were ALOT of nasty posts from trolls that week.... many young investors bailed, and one investor sold out stating that by the time we got results the pandemic would be over... this was June 2020!
We are entering news rich months, weeks maybe, everyone at Synairgen is excited.... 15 years of hard work all about this moment. Why don't you go through some of RM's or Holgate's interviews before you decide to sell. "We know it works"!
Looking back at the SP it seems the above news yesterday created the biggest spike the day before, just as the US markets opened.... I guess as more people become involved it's hard to keep a lid on good news.
Did we really just drop this morning based on fake news?! Phase 3 AZN7442 FAILED.
Expecting a lift into close on a Friday afternoon.
Iran have just reported 50k + cases today, the highest ever recorded by 20%. Delta variant was only discovered there at the very end of June/beg July. There are quite a few other countries on a worryingly steep incline/3rd wave.
Australia's cases are currently low, but on a steep trajectory..... It's hard to comprehend that some countries and their hospitals are just at the beginning of this.
Great to see nobby, beforegolf and Ghia posting again. And thanks to all of you who have posted some great info recently.
Actually, I agree with Ghia, the board has been great over the past few weeks.... people question rather than issue statements... which is fine. Although I totally agree, Polygon is a good thing, but there's no harm asking for reassurance that they are.
I, personally, haven't seen many green boxes on here for a while now... it's all good for now.
For what it's worth, the SP on the friday, before manic monday, quietly rose from 33p-36p. Not a lot, but it had been slowly dropping for a LONG time, so it was out of character. So I would expect a rise the day before an RNS.
I don't think MM's are in the know.... and there is no RNS ready to go yet.... but I personally believe that there are a few people who have 'picked up' positive vibes on the outcome of these trials... although I believe RM is as straight as they come..... it is inevitable that those close to him would feel this.
Whoever is loading up has been doing so for a few weeks now.
I believe RM's intention is to let a big pharma take on COPD/asthma/everything else trials, once they have Covid approved.
Guessing the new role would be to help manage the current workload.... as Doc says, an extra pair of hands.
Yet another £100k buy at end of day.... seems someone clever is just quietly collecting all the sells as they come in, without affecting the share price too much.... has been doing so for a while now.
Flu Season is from December to March, with the peak in January. SNG should be up and running by then.
With regards to the SP, the move from Active II, phase 2 to phase 3, will see a big uplift, and that shouldn't be too long now.... for those that don't want to wait another 3-6 months, they can take their money then.
I personally see SNG as a long term investment which I am happy to be in for a few years. I never envisaged a T/O, not sure why there has been so much talk of it here.... licensing was always RM's plan IMO.
I was sitting on a £10k loss the Friday before Manic Monday when the SP was at 35p. When it opened that morning, that loss turned to a six figure profit.... and then just kept climbing. A very memorable day.
I am very grateful that some LTH's encouraged me to stay in, when it just kept dropping. I am still in because I believe this will happen again.
It is interesting to me that RM was being hugely criticised on this board at the beginning of the year for proposing 'too many' countries and hospitals, and making P3 'over complicated'. With decreasing numbers in some countries and inevitable bureaucracy, thank goodness he did.
Time and again, RM's leadership has proven to have great foresight.... he knows what the end game is, and I suspect the future of Synairgen is all but wrapped up. Exciting times ahead. Friday's SP movements reminded me very much of the Friday before manic monday..... one can hope!
Some great posts recently and detectoring.. thanks so much to all that have contributed. I am very grateful for it.
A friend, yesterday, tested positive for Covid, for a third time.... all six months apart. He's only 22, so not severely ill, but in bed and pretty wiped out for the first two... too early to say this time around.
Depressingly I think we all have to accept that Covid is here to stay, there is no doubt that Synairgen will be needed for people who need help fighting this off, for a very long time into the future.
