Yes the daily tests will be LFT's, but they will be Innova until HMG run out of stock, hopefully by end August latest! Assuming HMG continue supplying LFT's for free for quite awhile yet, at least for NHS, schools, Universities, Govnmt offices, Armed forces, then they will have to choose a replacement for Innova! We are still in the race!

Great, but still they don't recognise that some LFT's (avct) are nearly as accurate as PCR tests and easier, cheaper and quicker.......It ought to be a no brainer!

Sounds very plausible and no doubt AS has had similar technical debates with MHRA/PD. Question is where are Avct at in getting MHRA approval with/without going through PD!?

There seems to be a move to stop the 10 day isolation if pinged and replace it with a PCR test and daily LFT's inorder to keep business moving, also responsible businesses will introduce LFT's for those at work to reduce absenteeism and keep the workforce going. This is all somewhat unclear at the moment, but I believe this is the direction of travel the UK is going, not just maximum vaccination and herd immunity (if we ever truly get that!?)

Gemstar, what do you make of the $41bn!? Thats not the buy out cost of Mologic alone surely......must include for many other buy outs and manufacture n distribution of medical products to the third world too!?

I agree that HMG are going all out for vaccination uptake for next couple of months at least! At some point they will recognise the benefits of a good LFT, maybe schools first in September and maybe big events. They obviously don't wish to give the unvaccinated a way out by testing, just not yet anyway! That does not mean that testing will never have its day though. HMG are manipulating the situation to maximise vaccine uptake.

At least if there is a D notice it means that HMG knows that Innova are crap and therefore they cannot credibly continue to use them indefinitely, the truth will win the end! It just means they will use Innova in the interim; hopefully only to end August. iF they went way beyond that then it would become an even bigger scandal than it is now!

They will not only have an NDA with HMG, but will also want to abide to the letter and spirit of the NDA so as to never put their fragile relationship at risk! Hence the radio silence. If there truly was no chance of an HMG contract, then AS would and should break cover, so my view is that it is all to play for, however frustrating these delays and obfuscation is!

AS actually said some feedback on Ph 1a by end 2021, I would also expect some interim feedback/progress before then, possibly in 4 stages. Also Ph2 interim feedback/progress throughout 2022.

The main question for me is when will HMG demonstrate its support for the UK diagnostic industry in a practical way by awarding contracts for supply of LFT's rather than using Chinese inferior ones.

A letter has been sent to all NHS staff in Scotland to use a new LFT. Quote "The test involves a less invasive swab than the current PCR test and the use of a pregnancy test type device to obtain results within 30 minutes." Which one will this be, not Innova anyway!?

When MHRA reviewed the safety of Innova recently I personally think that they were being somewhat ingenuous in that the the product (a bit of plastic and reagent) was considered to be no threat to health directly, HOWEVER what they didn't do was assess the threat to life from false readings!!

How can HMG continue to use 2 Chinese tests banned by FDA.........unsustainable even in the short term (1-2mths)!

Bojo says they will continue to keep the Test n Trace system in place, so what LFT test will they use when Innova EUA expires end August!?

Avacta are being held back by lack of clear policy and decisions on testing from HMG not bay their sales team! HMG have to decide on what replaces Innova and the other Chinese tests in the medium to long term (hopefully no more Chinese after say 1-2 mths) and also to accept that high standard LFT's can replace PCR tests (Avacta LFT is good enough to replace PCR's in most cases!?) for travel and any other big events ands use at big organisations. Various pundits are already saying that there is not enough PCR test capacity to cope in the near future, apart from the delay time for a result! Once HMG realise this and act on it then we will sell plenty!
