I agree re the placings to date - it just goes to show that AP's comments on podcasts should not be taken literally because if they were to be then we should have had news on the cornerstone investor and offtakers by March! The more time that goes by the more likely the placings will keep coming. Simply not good enough imo

Over the past year, the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has started significant work on how we can support the energy transition alongside the core role of maximising economic recovery of UK oil and gas.
The OGA is pleased to have secured a £900,000 grant from the Better Regulation Executive’s Regulators’ Pioneer Fund, to begin this latest project. It will look at the mix of energy sources and storage solutions needed for the transition to a low carbon economy in areas including:

Powering of offshore oil and gas platforms from renewable sources
Monetisation of offshore produced gas via in-situ power generation

Gas to wire: The use of gas produced from offshore fields to generate electricity offshore and transmitting that to the shore through sharing infrastructure with windfarms. Expected synergies would improve the economics of both renewables and gas projects, enabling further offshore developments.

Re-purposing old O&G assets: Value creation through the delay of decommissioning costs (~€1 billion). Cost reduction for carbon capture and storage (~40% to 2030, combined with the
tonnes of CO2 stored) could save €14 billion over the period to
2050. Other sources where value could be created by cooperation include power-to-gas (PtG), gas-to-wire (GtW).

Gas-to-wire (GtW) (re-purpose)
Gas-to-wire could increase the viability of developing smaller marginal gas fields. For shallow fields without pipeline infrastructure, gas may still be produced economically, if combined with a floating gas-to-wire facility. The floating GtW station would generate electricity from the gas produced. If connected to the offshore power grid, the power produced could easily be transported to shore. In most countries there is little experience.The potential for re-purpose oil and gas infrastructure for offshore wind, is largest in the southern and central North Sea where waters are shallow, and in places where offshore wind and O&G assets are in close proximity. There are no pilot projects for GtW yet......YET being the key word so we still have 'first mover advantage' in this potentially lucrative area.

Next Geosolutions has been awarded two survey contracts for the North Sea Link (NSL) project, the first electricity link between UK and Norway

The North sea link due for completion in 2021 will run from Blyth in Northumberland to Norway

The company will shortly lay a new electric cable connecting Great Britain and Norway, and survey an existing cable in Norway, “meanwhile we are getting ready to lay the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the Baltic Sea”.

I think you'll find that the SPV side of things can still be agreed alongside an agreement on heads of terms for GTW. OGA approval would follow naturally of course given that the main objective is to maximise recovery of assets in the North Sea with decommissioning only occurring when this can no longer be achieved economically. Plus the UK govt fully support this initiative so the comparison of investing in a building project without planning permission is not quite the same SBP ....

Einar is seeking additional financing for MFDevCo to support the business as it concludes the terms of the SPV with Marnavi and, in parallel, seeks to agree Heads of Terms for the two GTW opportunities where efforts are being concentrated

SBP - it's likely that news on the proposed SPV will come first either way once this occurs cash won't be an issue....

The SPV will remunerate MFDevCo for any projects accepted

I still hold here but sensed that something just didn't seem right here and had a feeling the company would be coming back with another begging bowl for yet another placing - so I was fortunate enough to have sold half my holding a few days before the latest placing. Just had a gut feeling which I went with and on this occasion I was right. I'd be surprised if this were to drop further from this level though. This should hopefully be the last placing to come leading to the company being self sufficient in terms of revenue generation and profit. It's about time the company cut the lth's here a break and now deliver.

I'm sure there are many with a significantly higher average than yourself Harry @.15 .... my average is .12 but sometimes it's just best to switch off from the daily fluctuations and ride it out for those that still have faith in the potential upside which I do.

Having announced the signing of an LOI in March with Marnavi to establish an SPV financing entity for GTW it's perfectly possible that as well as potential news on progress with GTW that at any time we may get an LOI with operators on marginal field projects over in Mexico, Columbia and Ecuador....

Gas to wire (GTW) , where natural gas is combusted offshore, on the platform, by power turbines to produce electricity for transmission to shore, changes the game. Infrastructure can be re-used and converted to host power generation equipment. Power generation can be decentralised and can soak up the remaining reserves by using the natural gas at source. The route to shore changes from a gas pipeline to a relatively cheaper electrical cable. Best of all, existing wind farm electrical infrastructure is already in place. Due to the nature of wind energy there is most often spare capacity on the cable which now has a market. When the wind blows, baseload gas fired power generation can be turned off and renewable power uses up the cable. When the wind dies down, consistent baseload power is on tap to soak up the spare capacity.

The Oil and Gas Authority has published a report that looks at the technical considerations and potential benefits from GTW in areas such as the Southern North Sea and the East Irish Sea. It offers a great technical description of the gas to wire system, and describes opportunities in the SNS and East Irish Sea (EIS).

This technology is clearly primed to solve some critical issues in the UK and is actively supported by government.

I actually agree with you Royscot - I was answering a comment that Wobwat made last night which now makes sense re the shorting of a stock. Plenty of people know how to including myself even if you don't Royscot. However it's not something I've ever chosen to do. Unethical - yes perfectly legal - yes.
Quite clearly the current SP means that the market has priced in the expectation that Nuog won't deliver.
However as I've seen in a number of stocks sentiment can turn in a heartbeat. Just like you Royscot I'm looking forward to the next chapter involving progress on GTW and yes it certainly isn't too much to ask.

Wobwat, I think I know why they are. Maybe some are holding short positions and are hoping they can drop this further?
I seem to be the obvious target in that respect in so much that I have only recently bought in with a substantial holding so their hope is that with constant negative/nasty posts on here directed toward me that I then start selling out now? Not just lse but they seem to have a problem with me on advfn too where mcadder gets talked about every single day! Well it ain't happening!
If and I say IF this is the case then their objective relies on seller's of decent amounts to make this happen during the wait for positive material news. It looks to me that this is way oversold and the majority of those who have wanted to sell out have already done just that. The rest of us remaining are here to see this play out for the massive potential upside.
So the shorters would know this and seem to be concentrating their efforts on moi! Some on advfn have even admitted to holding short positions here!

The list of the 6 people at the event are the panelists, 2 of whom work for Siemens. Without going into specifics they are all experts in their field Royscot.
Alison will have presented to the panelists as part of the workshop event - she will have been there because of the recent link up with Siemens and growing recognition of gas to wire that will create value by putting to use assets that would otherwise have been decommissioned by linking up to the grid via wind turbines. Will not only help with decarbonisation but will also be a boost to energy security while generating revenue. None of those presenting at the workshops were named - just the panelists.
