Airbus warned earlier today about the risks of a no-deal exit from the EU. Stephen Phipson of the EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, had this to say:

“Airbus is not alone. We have heard from manufacturers across sectors who are being pressured to make potentially very harmful decisions. The threat of friction at the border means the end of ‘just in time’ manufacturing – the backbone of Britain’s world-leading industry."

LONDON (Alliance News) - The likelihood of a second referendum being held to break the political deadlock over Brexit has "risen sharply", according to the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The forecasting group put the probability of another poll at 50%, up from 30% in a similar analysis less than a fortnight ago, and said it expects the government to delay Britain's exit.

And it predicted that the prime minister's "plan B" for Brexit will not be sufficient to secure parliamentary approval, and placed the chance of it succeeding at 20%.

The EIU had previously said there was a 40% chance of May getting a version of her deal approved by Parliament eventually.

It said a second poll would give popular legitimacy to the next course of action, be it adopting a version of May's deal, leaving with no deal or stopping Brexit.

It seems to have been an equitable transaction and the directors of Geasons will continue in offering their services as before, AND across the company overall. Your post at 09.26 today reinforces and provides more reasonable arguments rhan my original assertion about NOT having a "Divi" paid just now but should be considered in or about August. That would fit your appreciable caution in avoiding unforseen trouble in the future. I would very much like to read any comments you may provide when you have read the accounts, perhaps during April. Mr TT and Adastra will also be awaiting those same results to see if a "Divi" is on the horizon. Thank you for your Friday Note, very encouraging. The company does seem to be an advanced business but I wonder did you see my note of 10th Jan suggesting we may see an update some time ? I had been visualising the use of graphene in heat affected zones, as well as high strength requirements. I hold a few shares in VRS, you may have heard of them ? Graphene, to a layman like me, would seem to be very useful in many engineering duties. VRS are well known for their products and have made many link-ups with potential customers. However, Mr Best has invested in Haydale, another company connected to GEIC at Manchester University, and ABDynamics is apparently involved within a joint venture there. I have not seen any announcement of this, have you ? I noticed the tie-up with GEIC on a Haydale RNS some little time ago. ----- Yours, Max.

Welcome to the board ! May i comment on your post of today. (1) You mention Monopolies Commission, I assume you mean the UK Monopolies Commission ? Certainly they have opposed previous takeovers, usually, as you know, because they wished to avoid Monopolies being established which they thought would be detrimental to business. (2) Standardising currencies in EURO was their choice but obviously not all countries chose to go down that path. Germany having chosen the EURO as a currency, have complained long and loud about carrying other countries such as some Med counties. Perhaps when we have taken our pounds away they will look at their situation and change things. The situation in the Med is fraught with volcanos and earthquakes so perhaps the Euro Authorities have sympathy there, even more than we do. ----- Yours, Max.

If you had been following an engineering course to any standard you would have heard of Peter Drucker a highly respected reearcher and author. He was not the person advocating a larger shovel for the labourers he onserved shifting more and more materials per hour, until collapsing with fatigue, just tp rove his trheories.
