I fully agree that TPG is in a good position and pleased with their recent orders. I came across this report today and offer it, not as any satisfactory outcome for our company, but a survey of the manufacturing situation for Small and Mid Enterprises (SMEs) i8n the UK. ----- Yours, Max.
UK Mid-Sized Manufacturers Downbeat Over Export Prospects - CBI
[ 31 Jan 2019 06:20 ]
LONDON (Alliance News) - New order growth for small and medium-sized manufacturers in the UK was muted in the three months to January, the latest quarterly CBI SME Trends Survey showed on Thursday, with British firms gloomy over export prospects.
The CBI's survey of 296 SME manufacturers showed that output grew at a pace above the long-run average in the three months to January, representing a similar rate to the three months to October.
However, manufacturers expect only a slight rise in output over the coming quarter, and total orders are set to be flat.
The CBI said 31% of SME manufacturers reported an increase in total new orders, and 23% said they decreased, to give a balance of 8%.
Meanwhile, business optimism dropped for the second quarter in a row in January, with export sentiment falling at the fastest pace in nearly a decade.
Sorry about the gloom. Perhaps there may be one or two firms who would appreciate an approach by our company in line with recent views expressed. Any thoughts in which direction ? Eng and Tech OR Software ?
