Not trying to be disrespectful here one bit….your in for a shock,forget what’s in stone,it will more than likely be changed/got around…everything you have read and believe will probably will probably be in a file already with a plan…from experience with large companies who want change,it will happen,and if you don’t get in line an excuse will be made to pop you on a disaplinary…then slowly work through the procedure until your sacked and the union won’t be able to do anything,they will pick on the low lying fruit first,then the people who think there untouchable…then the rest will fall inline and it’s Everyman for himself…this happens all the time…I wish you well,but one piece of info I will give you,do not rely on your union,or what’s written down by anyone including the government…it’s all subject to change

Being serious for a minute,and this is no way meant to undermine your post…there are ways to make things very awkward in the work place for workers,to the point where you just want to leave,I would be very surprised if big payoffs were something in there thoughts..just from experience…these people always have a plan.

I am pretty sure vesa have read the prospectus several times over,no stone would be left unturned…these people will be able to read the small print on a stamp from miles away.

These people always have a plan,always have a worst case scenario,even if vesa dont get approval there will be a plan,in the end it will happen…I think it’s now a case of not if but when…good look to all…and that includes posties

I’ve done quite well with investing over the years,and learnt a lot,part of my profits are gambled in strategic way,a thought through gamble if you like,risk for reward,the signs here are getting stronger,as my previous posts about being a union rep are there for all to see,I cannot for the life of me understand the post union,or the workers who carnt see the wood for the trees.
I sincerely hope they see sense,but I I have a feeling in my water it’s to late…if this goes ahead…posties welcome to the real world,this could end up a blood bath…preying for you it’s not,but it could be very cut throat,business men/companies have no remorse.

My investment strategy is different to others…I’ve been buying when kretinski buys and more on the way down…iam a little ****ed off the posties didn’t go on strike first…was hoping to mop up more…but you never no….no crowing from me just yet,there’s a lot that can go wrong,but hopefully this will be worth it in the end.

Already this week I have Recieved around 25% more parcels from cheaper carriers due to customers swapping from Royal Mail due to strike action…I must have Recieved at least 10 emails from other carriers trying to poach work from me,all stating Royal Mail strike action…once the work goes it can be hard to get back..
You can take a horse to water but you carnt make it drink..
If you carnt see now the bigger picture you have your head in the sand :-)

Make of it what you will,48 & 24 hr tracked now £1 cheaper per parcel until 1st nov…just sent a load for £3.30 each tracked…instead of £4.30 :-)

It would yes,then a year down the line your back at the table for more…i sugest this is not about here and now…more about the future of the company…management want you to strike…they may then split the company promoting it’s the workforces fault….crush the union at the same time and there happy…then the company won’t have to put up with an inept union again.

Changing working hours to facilitate might not be obvious right now..but it maybe shortly…plans the work force don’t no about will be made clear once conditions are in place…another good management strategy:-)

Maybe the company are playing a very good game…they want you to strike….then all the cards fall into place..:-)

I decided which union I wanted to work with.
It was me who decided I wanted a union in the work place due to employer bullying.
It was me who got everyone on board
It was me who did all the hard work taking on the employer who did not want a union in the work place.
It was me who took all the flack and lies from the employer.
It was me who brought a group of lads from nothing to full recognition in the work place in a record time which still stands in the uk today….6 months..

One thing you should not do is try and be clever .

One problems I found with unions is they try to take over and don’t look at the overall picture,getting themselves pushed down a wrong road and carnt reverse out.

You will find that there’s a high percentage of Royal Mail staff are share holders :-)

When I was repping,I found everyone was together at the beginning,then cracks appear,then it’s Everyman for himself,those rejecting offers put forward by management in the end were left high and dry…if/when the split happens and the posties are as you say up **** creek…they will be given an ultimatum of some sorts…most will then back track,accept and do as there told…seen it a few times now…you find in work places like these the employee who’s been there years
A..doesn’t want to change
B…carnt change
C..is used to a routine
D likes the camaraderie and banter
E…would struggle in other employment
In the end they just get on with it as they do not really want to leave…where else would they get the wages,pension and sick pay.
You will prob find they will fold like a pack of cards once the realism sinks in….now is the time for management to wag the tail instead of the tail wagging the dog…in years to come hopefully everyone will gain once things are implemented….if employees are on board then fine if not they will be replaced…the company will survive…sadly I personally think things have already been written,I think the strikes already factored in and the big share holder knows this and that the reason for there recent purchase…so…go on boys…strike away :-)

Beetle…yep was a postie…yep was a rep…many of those posties could not work anywhere else…stuck stacking shelves…stuck behind a till…having to actually work all the time on shift…a postie being out doors…is a big thing for them…I for one have seen what goes on…unions…most stuck in the past..you go ahead and strike …love it…split the company…love it…those on the good side of the company getting healthy long term pay rises…the old fashioned work force then stuck in a job they threaten to leave but never do…little pay rises…cut backs..job loses…getting more and more bitter…get on board or ship out…or get shipped out…please strike :-)
