Again from experience,you cannot refuse to do something your asked to do from higher up the chain,your opening yourself upto gross misconduct...I was in the same place as a rep..they wanted me out as I was pushing change...I was informed from my union to do what was asked and try to fight it...the problem is once sacked it takes an age to get to a tribunal,that you may not win
With going on strike you have opened yourselves up to r/m taking no notice of agreements..but as I have said many times the company have a plan,they always gave a goal,ACAS is another tick in the box from a legal point.once the big mouth gets sacked,whatever the consequences the rest fall in like ducks.
Basically I think your all now screwed

From memory,and iam happy to be put right,before a company or the union can …let’s say put there foot down and be in the clear…all avenues need to be exhausted…maybe a good move from the board…doing exactly that…then just doing what they want anyway with no come backs:-)

Change is coming quickly…if the managers do not want to implement orders from above,they will find themselves in disaplinary…then sacked,easy way to get rid of them…they will all fall into line as they will not want to lose there jobs…and the union will not be able to do anything about it…seen it all before…:-)

I would add iam very surprised there is not another friend accumulating shares…this would then make it a lot easier for a low ball offer….take talk talk for instance….they took it private as there were two private firms accumulating….got it all tucked up with the board…who were in on it…went straight through …approved job done…no one had a say.

Yep…30% is the magic figure….but he still needs approval…there’s 70% there that would want a premium ….quick and decisive…all tucked up with approval….shut out anyone else (if there is anyone)low ball minimum offer would not do that:-)

Would have thought there would be a premium to the price….30% of the company does not buy it…..but a premium would get investors voting for it…and you never no…someone else could be out there wanting a piece of the cake:-)

Don’t be surprised if/when it gets taken over 90 days notice/new terms and conditions or leave/redundant.
Companies are ruthless…union or no union it won’t matter…they will not care.:-)

If…and at the mo it’s a big if…vesa get the go ahead to move to beyond 25%…I would be amazed if the uso conversation had not come up,and some outline talked about…ie…the lazy side of r/m being kept on,and a solution put in place to make the two parts of r/m work…and be profitable…then uso being relaxed to make this work…just putting the obvious out there..
