My feelings are there is some thing going on behind the scenes with regards management…there batting off everything,the union no this…they will also no that once Xmas is done they have nothing…the company not long after will ring more changes…
The company have been straight from the word go and not changed path…what they have said will happen if the union continue down there path has happened…the company’s stance will just get stronger as the list of to do things is ticked off…the union will get weaker the longer it goes on.
The union now have a clear choice…back down and lose face,members and power…or carry on and get hammered…thus losing face,members and power.
They are backed into a corner they cannot get out of.
Now it all depends on how grovelling the union are as to how many changes are implemented and how many jobs can be saved.

2..3 months striking now up…you can be sacked.

If this carries on until Xmas the members/union have no leaverage at all.

Having worked heavily with regional as a rep,I can tell you that the poor reps who work on the ground will have no clue of what’s actually going on.
You will be told one story…the story they want to tell,regardless of what’s going on behind the scenes,they will want to put across a positive spin on how good things are going,how they have the company just where they want them,the truth will be hidden,the truth will be bent,regional will no exactly the **** there in,but because the narrative has been so positive it’s impossible to go back…you say the positive a thousand times,you start to believe it.
The main reason I said my good byes…I couldn’t lie anymore…saying one thing knowing something else was actually going on…the lies are spread to the reps…they in turn innocently spread it down the chain..until the **** hits the fan…those above cover there tracks…who gets the short straw…the employee..
The poor rep who followed the narrative…look a right fool…

Anger …Those circumstances aren’t the posties fault…..but striking against that business 100% is…..and any subsequent changes made from that will be an act of self destruction. I could probably speak for 90% of share holders here who would say the company is doing the right thing. Some will disagree but most won’t.

Personally I think this is a perfect scenario for the company.
In years to come you will look back and think thank god that happened…
If all this **** in the world had not of taken place and Royal Mail were still doing well,then you will still have had all the underlining problems always there ready to show there ugly head…

Oli..you were right about one thing though….the company is losing around £1m a day".
So, the UK operation has gone from making just over a million a day to losing a million a day. It doesn't take the brain of Lloyd George to work out that it's a catastrophic failure of management. They have failed the shareholders, the employees and the general public but it's the employees who are in the wrong?

I feel you pain…but the company is desperate for a streaming…and I don’t mean Netflix….

Now,the interesting bit…once they feel enough is enough…and they decide to play hard ball…as a company,and as your just an employee…you need to follow instruction…

If they want to…they can ask you to reasonably do anything they want…
There will come a time..usually they will ask someone who thinks there untouchable…that may be you…they will instruct you to work these hours today…you say no…as your untouchable…lol…
They then can send you home…if they so choose…then pop you on a gross misconduct charge…if they so wish…at some point this will happen…why…because your paid by them…if you don’t like it…look for other employment…or get sacked….yes..p45 time..
They will be able to do this as you went on strike…your terms and conditions will be changed…
They love people like you…they will seek you out…to make mince meat of you…so everyone takes notice…and gets in line..just like ducks..
