After a good chat today with both our local posties,they have only just Recieved the offer from Royal Mail(all clipped together nicely from there manager),after reading it myself it’s exactly what everyone on here has already read…no they have also been told that 15% of the workforce posties have to go,they have only been offered 9 months to go…as expected no one wants to go…
They have been told that forced redundancies will happen if no one wants to accept…both posties also will not be striking,they will cross the line…as will others…if the strikes go ahead…
After a good chat there is a lot of talk of wanting to accept r/m offer…most wanted the lump sum in there pockets.
The cracks are there for all to see…deal or no deal as Noel edmunds would say…change is going to happen regardless

Maximas - An absolutely perfect example of the attitude displayed by old timers in RM, an abysmal work ethic and full of self entitlement, resentment, bitterness, intransigence and utter selfishness... Doesn't care about the long term viability of the company or a secure future for it's younger employees, just wants to retain his own cushy little number until his imminent retirement .

I will add, that in over 30 years at RM i have never seen volumes as low as they are now.
And despite the assistance from the agency staff, half the covered walks are still failing.
