Why is the price so low...?22 Nov 2023 10:11
This is of course opinion...
There can be absolutely no doubt of the value in the ground that we have discovered so far.
Equally the prospects that have been drilled and clearly have the possibility of much greater resource if continued.
We have over 90 projects, including those that CGP brought on board, e.g. Bramaderos, Shyri, Cana Brava, etc

It is fair to say that we have been trying to sell or J/V most of the original 80 plus SOLG projects for over 2 years and progress so far has been unimpressive.
Loganair on ADVFN yesterday suggested that the majors don't want block cave mines, but I found at least 21 active projects, most of which are producing...so thats not the problem, although it might restrict the full list of interested parties.
However, there are 20 in the data room and the block caving expertise exists, including among the Chinese. Newcrest has a reputation for it.
But they key thing is that, starting with Keith Marshall, SOLG has determined a strategy for accessing the richest ore without going for a full block cave approach at the outset.
Put simply we will dig a declining shaft into the richest ore.
(Oh and BTW once you've established a block cave its much easier and cheaper to mine than a deep pit, because you simply keep pulling down the roof)
Scott has previosuly stated that the previous PFS was too expensive and that cheaper world class engineers can be found (I'm guessing the Chinese).
So all in all I'm expecting a very much more attractive PFS3, with cheaper mine build costs and, taking account of market progression, better revenues, especially around the gold price, which I believe will become the differentiator for the winning bidder.
To remind...the price assumptions in PFS2 were:
$3.70 copper
$1700 gold
$19 silver
So I expect an IRR much closer to 30% when the PFS is published, maybe as early as January.
And we're not even mentioning the other 'gold rich' prospects, such as Porvenir, Helipuerto, Rio Amirillo
