I also think that "84 API" does appear to be a typo, and like Adrianz mentions, is probably 48 API !! (author's numerical dyslexia + non-tech ability to sanity check)... i.e. previous one was... 4250m when should be 4520m, anyway !!!

Looking at expected densities of oil etc in the Airshagyl Smart Engineering doc (page 37) states...

Oil = 835 Density (kg/m3) = 38 API
Condensate = 770 Density (kg/m3) = 52 API

So would expect something within the above range, i.e. 48 API, as good as guess as any.

Good luck CASP in getting a right-first-time flow on A8 and a couple of K bopd following drilling mud being fully recovered...

Trump made the announcement on twitter that John Bolton is out.

I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.

Bolton is a notorious hawk, especially in the middle east. No doubt that some of the issues Trump referred to related to taking a more militaristic approach.

You can see the reaction immediately in oil as it falls on falling chances of bombs falling in Iran.

If you look at the Smart Engineering well design document, it mentions testing the cased interval in 10m sections x 7 tests, i.e.

Test, total including:
- In the production string 630 days (seven sites * 90)

Also states regarding anticipated oil rates per test... i.e

The flow rate in conditions test m3/d. 40-300 (e.g 250-1900 barrels per day).

Obviously the doc was created pre-drill, so is a wait for actuals...

Similar with the shallows, they test separate pay zones as they evaluate all the prospective sections of the reservoir.

Need to strike pay x 2 at 3AB to have good position to bargain with Total and Dunga for JV or mutual deal...

Based on recent commitment by Total, are planning to spend $300m on proving additional 70m barrels @ 20k bopd by 2022...

So is a good opportunity to get farm-in, JV or similar if drilling goes well...

Is a wait and see...

Look at MJF (aka Northwest Yelemes) and South Yelemes Shallows... Both appear to be fed from Yelemes Deep.

Looks like Airshagyl feeds Kulzhan, probably some of the older already exploited soviet fields located in BNG too... Can certainly say, the Pre-Caspian/Devonian basin does appear to be a prolific basin, just a little old and seasoned, requiring love and cajoling ...

CC, would prefer link-up with KNOC, as mentioned previously, are a natural strategic and logistical partner, plus MO likes Korean ethos above many.

DB, seismic is from Feb 2018 CASP presentation, is very rudimentary via range of planned drills, there is some clues in the shallows... are probably fed from the deeps via faulting, does seem to be some pattern...

Can only comment on limited technical details have seen, Airshagyl is at least 27km east-to-west on seismic (drilling range), then looking at 3d in Smart Engineering doc maybe 5-6km wide (north-to-south), so easily > 100km2, but maybe not all of that is trapped oil zones, is hard to tell and drilling is the only way to be certain...

I'm not claiming we're Karachaganak sized, but has taken them decades and hundreds of wells to understand best and most efficient ways to extract resource, so need a bit of patience with CASP.

Is culminating to something, hopefully is good :-)

Tendering a 4th well on Airshagyl does exude a level of confidence (as DavidBlack observed, hopefully is well-placed).

Regarding new well... Will they go for a safe near up-dip A10 (2.3km from A8), or push the boat towards Kulzhan (approx 7km from A8) with A9 which is even further up-dip, both look excellent prospects, or maybe take a venture down-dip with A7, must admit, even though 20km from A8, A11 and A12 look interesting prospects too...

Logic suggests going up-dip but will need to go down-dip at some point to appraise field fully, same for testing Devonian, maybe when cash-flow has improved !!! Is a phased development approach...

Must admit though, A5 has me intrigued/excited as to whether going to be a lateral well as per tender !!!

Have today observed some interesting tenders for "Meerbusch" (Kulzan's KNOC trading arm), are getting a reserves report, technical report re handling condensate and gas, new wells, busy-busy... lol

Anyway, is defo interesting in the CASP Matrix

ETA is no guarantee Squif, all have experienced tanker tease... But is two days ahead of 12 day schedule...

Doubt have done full maintenance already, but never say never... Did have a 17 day interval between previous offload, not much time for downtime and producing, but who knows if had a cunning quick plan...

Still have super tanker (>2m barrels) RIDGEBURY PRIDE (similar size to Grace-1 or what now called) in Scapa Flow, same tanker that had last load from Amundsen Spirit.

Could easily take 3-4 normal offloads... Maybe for South-east Asia or Canada...

Makes a nice change to have results in a Poo going-up !!!

Have been observing Karachaganak field, as appears similar'ish sub-surface structure to Airshagyl/Yelemes Deep, but doesn't look like has any Devonian interval.

Has a lot of open hole multi lateral wells, and many others types too, over 300 wells so far...

Seems to do very well on open hole short'ish horizontals using an open hole acid frac, looks like might have been done by Schlumberger, maybe is way forward for A5 ???

Sure have read Tolmount main alone is equivalent to Catcher (around 100m bbls), MO is + rose' so not certain is accurate...

PS... Many discussing improved shale bopd per well performance, Wells defo going longer, did see longest ever horizontal well has recently been drilled on Alaska North Slope (Same basin that PMO just farmed-in to) !!!
