Thanks Romaron... With the 30,000 extinction protesters (supposedly) due out this weekend, sufficient to match each runner in London Marathon... Should be interesting.. If I was runner I'd take a keep-away-spray with me... Remember your UK gov text alert test planned for 3pm
Will they trip the runners up. feed them bamboo ? I have no idea... It's gunna be like the human Grand National... at least the runners can take some measures...
Regarding the Snooker... What about all the travelling environmental cost for the crowd that has to re-attend today... Solar powered teleporter ?
Probably not... MO
Can see current and recent visits to Sullom Voe to fill-up... apols if already aware... Was new to MO
https://www.shetland.gov.uk/homepage/186/sullom-voe-traffic-information
Finland and Poland popular, plus UK !!!
Looks a little busier this month...
Good luck all ENQers, MO
Did observe the latest extinction protest in Westminster...
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/extinction-rebellion-big-one-protest-parliament-just-stop-oil-b1074885.html
Not trying to be sceptical, but that flag/banner looked a lot like polyester... maybe it was free-range silk worms or cotton but does look a bit carbon-based...
Soz all, just a bit sick of hypocrisy !!!
MO
Good day all ENQers... Have appreciated recent quality posts by Romaron and Dumbly... They seem to care more about North Sea O&G than the official OGA... sorry the transition authority... It's all about change
Is a tough time to be an observer, dogma and pre-set objectives proceeds sanity... Maybe oil is now as popular as coal in the 80's with Arthur Scargill
Great points about current gas prices... from highs of 700 per UK therm to current 100 per UK therm shows the joke of the EPL !!! and then the NSTA says it's to encourage investment, lol... with what !!! and for what !!! My British Gas bills have trebled !!! Top timing on the future contracts purchased !!!
Dumbly's hit the nail on the head... Agenda written reporting is what mattered... At least we have our snooker lol
Take care all ENQers... MO
Maybe a better link: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=cb3474a78df24139b1651908ff8c8975&extent=-119011.2052%2C8603598.3625%2C357955.8512%2C8866235.9917%2C102100
Links suck sometimes... MO
Hi Sipp10 and Therapist...
Have spotted on OGA maps on a new link with CCS... Did note areas include Thistle and Deveron... Soz if already observed
Hope this link works: https://arcg.is/94DWX
Good luck all ENQers... MO
Sad to see you go Chilts... Fellow hardcore tanker tracker...
There will always be gas as a natural bi-product of decomposition, using it efficiently is where the real green revolution is...
Good luck all ENQers...
Cheers all
Just a quick correction to my rose' infused post, the GPS for the Block 8 "2D" well is: 46.2629106389667, 55.184892425265666
You can just about see the rig on the 26/12/22 Maxar image, not the best quality, but ok... https://discover.maxar.com/
All the best, MO
Hey all CASPers... Happy New Year
Have recently been observing new block 8 well "2D" GPS... 46.51665950071045, 55.08125103442162 ...Short term drilling extension until end of Feb 23, Maxar has recent images
Happy with the essential ZJ70 drilling rig purchase, will enable horizontal drilling the deeps... not cheap
Hoping for a good 2023
Cheers MO
Hope it gets through...
MO
lol KO...
You know MO, strictly observing... and once an ENQer, always an ENQer...
Take care, MO
Hey all
Another issue I have with this Turpin Tax is that all the prior build-up news headlines were about BP, Shell etc monster profits to drive this tax, yet most (if not all) of these mentioned produce more outside the UK than in it... Dividend... lol, maybe someday
Another gripe is the vagueness of “phased out when oil and gas prices return to historically more normal prices”...
Does this include the 4years at levels during the 2010s (when $100+ normal, indexed would probably be nearing $200 p/b), or averaging over xx years, If I was AB I would seek to pin them down to actuals...
Can laws be passed with such vague parameters... silly question really...
Cheers all, MO
Hey KO, hope you're well...
That's another way of circumventing it, produce your oil/gas outside the UK lol - ENQ do have some scope at the PM8/Seligi field if I remember correctly.
I don't remember the UK gov helping buffer losses to the industry when oil was all time lows during the beginning of COVID, I might be wrong. But something fundamentally wrong with this poorly thought out tax, that may very well backfire longer term.
All the best
MO
Thanks BananaJoe, that's a shame then...
Therapist, I do miss the late night therapy sessions, I'm nearly cured.
Cheers all. hopefully someone fixes this joke tax, especially not being able to offset existing losses from previous investment.
Is tough world... Good luck all
MO
Hey all ENQers
Good to see so many familiar faces still going... :-) and that ENQ still generates interest.
The Windfall Tax was a bit of a kick in the goolies for ENQ, what are the thoughts on ENQ using excess FCF to pay down debt, that would serve a useful purpose and save them for generating profit to be taxed ??
Just something that popped into my head, and I bow to those with a better understanding...
Anyway, really good to visit again, all the very best
MO
Thanks Whiteace...
As Arny said in Running Man... I'll be back... Hopefully :-) and not in a re-run...
Take care all and best of luck... MO
Same to you Jan... I remember us up late at night for Kraken's first offload lol
Is good to see all old ENQers still here... MO's venturing into new grounds...
No spa baths with C19 lol !!!
MO
Hey E121... Can still see your knowledge is top class... not that expected less...
I do miss the stimulation of all here... keeps ya going, lol
Doing my bit for the UK now... not so much fun, but is needed... Do miss so much of this, but alas poor yorich...
Happy to still all still going well... Chilts, KO, Romaron, GKB so many... Jan not forgetting you
MO
Hey all
Just wanted to say nice to see many familiar faces still around... Has certainly been a tumultuous 18 months... Hope all have prevailed versus C19... Some very interesting developments at ENQ, MO has other pressing duties at present, so no longer can measure offloads, but still happy to see familiar faces...
Cheers all ENQers
and good luck... MO
Good day all happy CASPers...
Is Caspian Explorer a good buy ? Only time will tell, below are some thoughts...
The photos from mid 2018 show the boats in good nick and being maintained, plus has only done a handful of drills, so should have good lifespan, plus SLB gave good review of real-time drill/test data from Caspian Explorer.
https://www.slb.com/-/media/files/testing-services/case-study/realtime-reservoir-test-exploration-well-kazakhstan-cs.ashx
https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:666266/mmsi:436000203/imo:9605671/vessel:CASPIAN_EXPLORER/
Caspian Explorer was primarily built as part of the KAZ / Korean Consortium's deal, they were obliged to build as part of the Zhambyl exploration license negotiations between 2005-2008.
Following not great results from the 3 or so drills on the Zhambyl block, the Korean Consortium relinquished their stake in 2016.
https://www.reuters.com/article/southkorea-knoc/s-koreas-knoc-in-talks-with-kazakhstan-to-drop-oil-field-project-idUSL3N1AM00O
So that's a little history, what about going forward. Obviously this boat is suited to exploration in shallows, so what's around the corner...
Well with NCOC and Shell dropping the Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar projects in Oct 2019, with well over 300m barrels recoverable may need some further appraising/exploring, possible job.
But my fave guess is exploring the Kurmangazy Oil and Gas Project, with recent change from 2000m to 4000m depth allowed, could be just the fit...
https://rogtecmagazine.com/kazakhstan-and-russia-will-resume-the-kurmangazy-oil-and-gas-project/
Time will tell if Caspian Explorer opens doors and more importantly a decent return on investment...
Good luck all CASPers, MO
PS... Only one offshore block currently is production, that's Kashagan, all the rest are still at exploration phases, so lots of opportunity in North Caspian Sea, need some clever thinking and deal making...
