RE: Weather in Almaty17 Nov 2019 13:01
Good day all CASPers
MLQ, it's the weather at BNG, where the ops are being carried out, that is of most interest and relevance to me... Sure Clive is quite cosy in Almaty office, which is over 1000 miles east of BNG's location on the North-East Caspian coast, I feel for those on the open ground, hope are wrapped-up warm.
Weather has been reasonably kind so far, so can only hope have made good progress over these weeks, mid-range forecast for BNG area is OK up until midday on the 20th, then looks like a Siberian -15c cold front moving south-west, weather over 2/3 days ahead is very difficult to predict and small changes, i.e. wind from the south can have dramatic effect, is a wait and see with fingers crossed.
Is now mid-November, so if still on current plan, hope to see 1/2 MJF spuds, A5 should be near or at TD, preparing for liner and cement, could be happening now ?
No idea how the acid works are going/have gone, but am optimistic for a positive outcome, but nothing guaranteed in O&G...
With approx max 150 perf holes per 10 metres of liner/casing, is quite a few holes for the acid to enter the formation and work its magic...
Back to snooze, good luck all CASPers and fingers crossed... Will we get a flaring permit for A6, 801 or A5 this week ?
For the record, Smart Engineering (page 33) have the mobility/permeability for the A wells of 0.5 to 0.01 Darcy, which is far from tight and is in fact about mid-range value for conventional reservoirs, well they were spot-on with the 38/39 API and sulphur content (hope link below works).
